I agreed. Boucher is a career AHLer. Goldy will most likely be surpassed by Pettersson, Dahlen, and Gaudette in the coming season. TBH, the Canucks should stay away from drafting or trading for Russians. In terms of skills, the Swedes and Finns are up there. Also, they are willing to spend their time in the minors to earn spots in the NHLRocky Dennis wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 7:49 am Yup. Bang on. I was rooting for him and still could be proven wrong (i would welcome tgat) but Boucher's opportunity to make and stay in the show was this year. He blew it at training camp/preseason and now he is destined to be a career ahl'er.
Unfortunately, I think Goldy is another one.

Re: Canucks Young Guns
I am confused by this post.. are you saying that I just described all 4 of those guys with my opinion on Boucher, or did you just say I compared Boucher to Boesser, Strome, Gaudette, and Crouse? Or did you say I compared Canucks to Coyotes drafting?
And if I am comparing Canucks to Coyotes drafting, am not sure how this relates to my opinion on one guy who may or may not make it in the NHL?
Or is this some weird opening to get me dragged into your guys repetitive genius debates? (I have no desire to get dragged into the endless flame war that a few posters keep wallowing in). I am just giving an opinion on one player.
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

Well, u never know. Guys with that kind of release/shot, u never really want to give up on. At 24, he's prob just starting to hit his prime years. If the Sedins + Vanek are not around next year, that's 3 roster spots open, so next year he may have a more realistic shot to make the team.Rocky Dennis wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 7:49 am Yup. Bang on. Unfortunately, Goldobin, Pettersson, Dahlen, and Gaudette are also trying to make the team as well.Todd Bersnoozi wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2018 10:59 pmWell, u never know. Petterson with 1 goal and 2 assists today. He's going to pass Peter Forsberg best SHL season at the dame age. I believe Peter was a year older than Petterson when he put up his best SHL season. A couple more games and Petterson will regain the SHL scoring lead

What's flying under the Petterson radar these days is the insane beast mode point producing pace Kole Lind has been on since getting cut from team Canada. Truly remarkable

Just spitballin but i don't see baer, goldi or virtanen in this team's future. Nothing to do with my personal feelings on the players but get the feeling Baer and Virtanen get traded and goldy flames out before the time that this lineup is possible. Also gotta see how Lockwood comes back from that severe injury.

Dude loves his all-prospect lineups. The kid is a scoring machine, former 1st round pick. He has like 18 goals in 21 games right now. Philadelphia needs Defense and has a shit load of young forwards to justify trading Laughton.
These are the kinds of trades I want to see Gillis make. Fuck these useless 30 year old rental players, they never work. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, waste of fucking time.

The post was from 2013... more than "a couple years ago".
Post shows The Dude was pushing for a rebuild when Gillis was the GM.
I think most of us recall The Dude ragging on management at the time for not focusing on "the Future".
And he was right, in 2013 that was (sadly) "the Future".
Why didn't you quote the entire post... as I did... it provides more information and the date stamp.

What are you playing at here Nucklehead...

Yes because "backhanded swipes" never "derail threads".Island Nucklehead wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2018 10:59 amBecause not every backhanded swipe needs to result in the exploration of a (thread-derailing) rabbit hole.Strangelove wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2018 10:09 pm Why didn't you quote the entire post... as I did... it provides more information and the date stamp.![]()

You purposely subtracted the date stamp so that folks wouldn't have the link to put the quote in context.
But whatever... Dude's post from 2013 was about "Canucks Young Guns".
Moving on...
