Move heaven and earth to stockpile picks in 21. Luke and Quinn on the same D. Sick. He’s out pacing Quinton at the same age and projects as more of an all around guy.

Quinn might have surpassed Petey as my favourite Canuck. It’s close. Benning hit two grand slams here with these picks. He set the team up for a decade of success and within a year or two these two guys will be among the top 10-15 players in the league. Good scouting, absolutely. But that’s part of management.

Hughes and Pettersson are game changers. If he had taken say... Glass or Vilardi or Dobson or Boqvist he wouldn’t have a job here. He didn’t blink and he picked two fucking rockstars. And before shittybum spandex skullet tweaker comes in and says I wanted those other players.... so did everyone else. Elmer and his scouting staff clearly got it.

For the record I think those other guys will be good players. But they aren’t Hughes and Petey snd thru were never going to jump in and have an impact.

Dobson looked solid today. Vilardi looking to be injury prone but is only 20 still.

OJ-esque...if you will

Dobson is going to be a nice player. He can skate like the wind... does it all. I wanted Dobson but Hughes is exactly what this franchise needed. Different players. Dobson looks like he could be a Pietrangelo/Jones type D man. Does everything pretty damn good.

Elmer hit two grand slams. Not home runs but grand slams. These are franchise altering moves. He deserved the rocks thrown at him back in the day. But he also deserves credit for drafting two kids like this.

It’s quite amazing the transition from the Sedins to Pettersson and Hughes, it was instant, not a beat missed, seamless. This cannot be ignored but I’m sure it will be with the narrative regarding the Benning Haters. When the Sedins were winding it down the whole town was shitting bricks “we have no replacements for the Sedins!” “Fire Benning!” gold Jerry! Gold!

Evan Bouchard is doing well in Bakersfield and is definitely no bust. He will be an oiler next year for sure.

I listen to coilers and lames radio all the time and hear the reports on their prospects.

In the new NHL his terrible skating will be a problem for him. It’s why he’s down there

Then why is in the E? That's a big jump for anyone to make.

In the new NHL his terrible skating will be a problem for him. It’s why he’s down there and that’s why I bump around the DTES. Rosie gets me some good bumps and I kinda act up ....

Makes me happier that they drafted Bouchard. Kid has a good IQ and can make plays with the puck, but can’t skate with today’s players. I can see him getting turn-styled in transition. He’ll be an NHLer but Dobson will be the better player. Best Coiler fans can hope for is his ability to make stretch passes to McJesus and make some plays from the blueline in. I can’t see him leading entries through way Quinn can.
