Could this effect the Chris Tanev negotiations? If there are any?
This is a very questionable deal considering it's going to be a flat cap for at least a couple more seasons, I think it will be three or four years, and Petry's age. Bobby Ryan has 2 years of $7.25M Cap Hit & 2 years of $5.5M Base + $2M Signing Bonus ($15M total) remaining on deal.Buy-out:
-Cap Hit: $3.58M (saves $3.7M), $3.58M (saves $3.7M), $1.83M, $1.83M
-Cost: $7.33M ($1.83M*4 ) + $4M SB = $11.33M, saves $3.67M

Staal can still play a bit and has one year left and the cash owed is 3.2 million with a 5.7 million hit. I doubt the Wings would take the Air Thief who has two years left and 5 million in cash owed to him with a 6 million dollar hit for less than a 1st or equivalent.
