I believe Benning has things like the next contracts of Pettersson, Hughes and Virtanen and trying to re-sign Markstrom and Tanev to worry about instead of bringing in from the outside a huge contract in Kane’s.

Benning has gone on record saying he’d like acquire a 1st round pick to make up for the one he gave up for Miller. I see more of a Demko for a 1st like what the Sharks gave the Kings for Jones. I’m hearing the Canucks really like Markstrom and want to badly re-sign him
