Past Canuck Players
So I was reading Twitter the other day, an there is lots of 'greatest lineup of all time' kinda things, and which past player would you want in his prime in this lineup, etc..
So, I figured this would be a good way to kill some time... you can only replace 9 players, and you have to rebuild the team around the current 'build type'
2 scoring lines
1 energy line
1 checking line
Naslund - Petersson - Bertuzzi
Sedin - Sedin - Bure
Miller - Horvat - Virtanen
May - Rypien - Ferlund
Edler - Hughes
Ohlund - Tanev
Myers - Jovanovski
Markstrom
Demko
... so then I go at to thinking about speed. Then Bure..
Which led me to the current question:
Was Bure faster than McDavid?
Has anyone clocked that?

Thanks for the entertainment MCP. It wasn't easy. Try it folfs. I wanted one more to get Luongo in there but with teams like these,
who needs goal tending...

Re: Past Canuck Players
I always thought this team needs a RS D-man with a big shot more than anything, basically a Sami Salo type. I figured it wouldn't hurt to add some scoring punch, grit and some of the all-time best Canucks.
1) Nasi-Petey-Bert
2) Dank-Hank-Bure
3) Miller-Kes-Jake
4) Ferkland-BoHo-Linden
- Brockstar, Sutter
1) Ohlund-Myers
2) Hughes-Tanev
3) Edler-Salo
- Tryamkin
1) Cpt Kirk
2) Marky Mark

If you go by his peak season he was fantastic. Too bad it was only one single seasonESQ wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 11:26 amFinally, someone takes Kesler!Todd Bersnoozi wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 5:20 pm I always thought this team needs a RS D-man with a big shot more than anything, basically a Sami Salo type. Compared to some guys getting on there like Rypien and Cassels?!The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 11:28 amIf you go by his peak season he was fantastic. Too bad it was only one single season
Kes had 5 straight healthy seasons of over 20 goals, three straight over 25 goals, and one crazy 41-goal season. Then had 3 20-goal seasons with the Ducks before falling apart.

Re: Past Canuck Players
Rypien would have slaughtered that dude who body slammed Petey, and would have redefined 'speed bag' with Marchand in 2011ESQ wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 12:08 pmCompared to some guys getting on there like Rypien and Cassels?!The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 11:28 amIf you go by his peak season he was fantastic. Re: Past Canuck Players
Curt Fraser would have destroyed Rypien, and he could actually play the game.
