I agree. I was a Leaf fan because no one in Van in the 50's and 60's was a Hab fan. That was the choice. I said a liked a couple of their players, not that I was a hard core fan. Geeze. You Leaf fans are touchy, but no wonder.

When Flames fans spew about their cup win, I remind them that Tampa Bay also won a cup.

I usually just ask them how they drive a car that is all rear-view mirror. They typically respond with something along the lines of "At least Calgary has a Cup".

So I just remind them that the Vancouver Millionaire's Cup is just as relevant as the Flames.

When you live in hog town you become conditioned to all things blue. You begin to believe that the only things of relevance are in hog town, the rest of the country is just unimportant, uneducated, un-enlightened, second rate, second class and just plain does not count, nor matter, nor carry any weight or influence. It is the hog town virus.

This applies to all walks of life, not just sports. In reality you know next to nothing about the rest of the country even though you think you do. You continue to believe that because of your large population you are entitled to everything and that for the most part everyone who isn't you wants to be. You laugh at everyone and everything that is different from you. You actually think you would be better off if Canada was just you, that you support the rest of us, that when given a chance your teams are Canada's teams. You are outraged, shocked, mystified when the rest of the country says anybody but you. You don't get it. You feel betrayed, attacked, isolated and unappreciated, yet you blame anybody but you.

Once you leave, start to breath fresher air, clear your head, exercise free will, you see reality. There are only two real cures for hog town disease. One is breaking away the other is death. Absent either of those two you are doomed to a tortured life of make believe and delusion. You never grasp the disdain the rest of the country has for you. You spend your existence rewriting history and blaming others for your failures. You believe in your own self entitled sense of superiority, your priveledge in the world. And then along comes Rob Ford......
