General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that G Nikita Tolopilo and D Elias Pettersson have been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL).
Interesting moves - seems Tolopilo is the better of the 2 AHL goalies, and who is replacing D-Petey? Mancini coming up?

Or sending them for a game before bringing them back up Friday?

I'm curious as to how PO7 keeps getting in over D-Petey. Even with a few of the lapses in play of late, I feel he is not only the better player currently, but the one with the higher ceiling going forward.

Yep - I've said before that I don't think either D-Petey or VEELander have anything to learn in the AHL - other than just 'getting more minutes'. Let them learn and live with their mistakes on the big club.

PO can go.

Agreed. No guarantee D-Petey wouldn't make the same mistakes PO7 or even more, but Joseph is what he is. Pettersson appears to have a higher ceiling.

Safe to assume that if the kids get more playing time that coaching/management has thrown in the towel. Get ready for more PO7, I guess. :(

If they play tonight, they are eligible for recall up thursday.

Dpete has taken a significant step back from last season in my opinion. He was far more physical, made safe outs regularly and rarely made these dumb pinches he's showing this year.

If he's eligible I'd let him cook for a bit down there and regain some confidence or whatever it is he's missing

I dont understand why POJ was in the lineup for the last couple games. DPety needs to play.

Strange that it's December and both Mancini and Dpetey are in the AHL and Willander is up with the big club. Especially when Tom showed he needed a little more cooking at the start of the season. Though he always had a higher ceiling than the other two. Good for him. All three are great prospects and I feel confident they will all have long NHL careers.

As for POJ ... I'm baffled. I suppose he's a placeholder for Forbort?

Considering the standings, at this point Mancini and d-Petey should be in every night. Let them work out their yips this season, so they are ready next.

PO Joe fits the right age group for this team that will make us competitive... um, or something like that.

General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that G Jiri Patera has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL), D Elias Pettersson has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL) and G Nikita Tolopilo has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL) under emergency conditions.
Ok - that makes sense of yesterday's moves. Just a 'paper' move, so to speak.

Wow, reading so much speculation that Hughes is going to get traded. Red Wings, Philly etc.

I get it, if he has asked behind closed doors to move, or management knows something about his plans.

But this is early days, can't even talk about resigning him until next year anyway - if they wanted to maximize on a deal, wouldn't a sign and trade be the best way? Otherwise just trading the best player in Canucks history (exception to Mogilny) - for the sake of it. No team is going to give up their #1 centreman for him mid-season. What else would you want?

Crazy nuts ball business here if true.

Unless or until he signs or is traded, this is our life as a Canucks fan. I honestly don't think we'll even see a trade - if Hughes won't re-sign - until the 26 Draft. Key players would have to come back and like you say, anybody who wants Hughes for the playoffs is not going to send a key piece the other way. TDD is seldom for player-for-player/'hockey' deals. Those tend to happen in the offseason.

Get ready for months more of this shit...
