Dustin Byfuglien, currently on personal leave from WPG, is believed to be using the time to ponder his NHL future. I’m not saying Byfuglien is retiring; I’m not saying he’s coming back to play. Only that he’s contemplating his options and there’s no timetable for a decision.

Neither the Jets nor Byfuglien’s agent Ben Hankinson responded to a request for comment.

8 million per cap hit.
Great deal for Ottawa.
They’d be idiots to trade that kid. Other than Rasmus Dahlin I cant think of a young D man I’d rather build a team around.Topper wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 8:15 amAnd whoever they trade him toDoyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 8:06 am Chabot signs an eight year extension in Ottawa

13. Teams trying to move bodies include Carolina and Vancouver. Both are tight to the cap and roster limits. The Canucks have made four or five players available, but I’m not sure Jake Virtanen is one of them. Head coach Travis Green was frustrated with Nikolay Goldobin last season, but GM Jim Benning opted for a longer view. Could be the same here. Calgary may have to manoeuvre something once Matthew Tkachuk is signed.
