I said it 12 months ago, I said it again last Spring.
As long as that pansy-ass flake is playing for the Canucks, this team cannot turn the page.
He’s nothing but a malignant milksop.

Maybe he should consider off season workouts with Willander.

Needs to weaken the right hand a bit on the grip and get his weight forward, won't chunk the pitch shots.

Too early to tell, as I said in another thread, and I don’t know if his speed has recovered. His hands and head, though, would seem to be back, though it would be reassuring to see him do some of his vintage dekes.
The biggest question remains in his chest.

So, if we had kept those other 3, we'd have 4 of the top 5 hitters in the league.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

Re: The Petey Predicament
Elias Pettersson EP40 Scooter (for transparency purposes most of this data was compiled prior to last night's game)....
Let's look at the fancy stats:
Goals above replacement (for the unititated this takes into account offense/defense/special teams/quality of competition) - 28th overall in the league (some guys he is ahead of are Stone, Tage Thompson, Nylander, Boldy)
Penalty Killing - 11th among accepted standard PK forwards with respect to shot attempts allowed per 60 @ 4 on 5
Ice covered - 3.92 miles per game...in 96th percentile in the league (80% plus is the general standard for top forwards)
Points - 16th
Face off wins - tied 3rd (although winning % is only 45)
Puck battle wins - 1st
Blocked passes - 2nd
Blocked shots - tied 2nd
He has 4 PPG goals matching all of last years totals already.
On the down side he is putting a career low 3.7 shots towards net which partially explains the zero even strength goals.
He has only 24 total shots on goal in 16 games with a 17% shooting percentage.
So yeah....shoot more for Crissakes.
He also has far more giveaways than takeaways (although the blocked shots/blocked passes stats negate that to a degree).
I still do not like the player, do not believe we will win with him as our top gun and think he's an absolute flake.
But.
Credit where due.
He's been better.
(...cue RG and the incoming trade for assets blast...)

Well, since I was cued...
As I've said for the other chips, do the best pump you can before the dump. I can see that taking a couple of seasons.
But I don't see him as part of the roster when the Canucks are competitive again. Do you?

Re: The Petey Predicament
I think the 5-on-5 shots are also linked to quality of linemates. When he has the puck on his stick defenders key on him. Absent thr puck on his stick, Nobody else on his line can actually do something that opens up space so that they can find him with the puck for a shot.donlever wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2026 8:30 am Elias Pettersson EP40 Scooter (for transparency purposes most of this data was compiled prior to last night's game)....

I know, I know, it’s odd of me to contribute anything even remotely close to a defense of this player…..do you think Jello might come back now?
