They're a mostly cheapass bunch who are a little milquetoast, but nothing like a good betrayal narrative with a sprinkle of geopolitics to boot in the nation's capital to get their blood pumping.

Watching that made me think about how the Canucks and its fans should welcome Quit Hughes back, I suggest the following:

Do a tribute video for him but follow this script:

Start the video with the traditional “thank you Quinn Hughes” graphic and then show highlights of Rossi, Oghrem, Buium in Canucks jerseys and Novotny in his Pete’s jersey.

Reading some of the post-game stuff about what they were chanting at the game, gotta tip my hat. That’s some heartfelt fan hate, there.

Hughes is a different animal. He didn’t leave quite so acrimoniously. I think it best that the crowd has no reaction, like he’s just another visiting player.

The Sens actually have a decent group which makes Brady wanting out so much worse.

Quinn could clearly see the Titanic sinking and there wasn't anything he could do about it (on the ice anyway) plus he probably gave the ancient one loads of notice....his barfing out state secrets to the media surely didn't help

I don't really blame Hughes and the Canucks did get a decent return so what the hell, give him his little video and move on

I agree on the apathy towards him.

I don’t actually think Tkachuk’s departure is worse than Hughes. He wanted to go play Stateside with his brother. Same same. He didn’t really voice it out loud until he did. There was no drama. He was loyal to the Sens and their fans for years despite constantly being questioned about wanting out even though he had never said anything.

Ottawa has made the playoffs 2 out of the last 10 seasons, and were bounced in the first round in consecutive years (swept last season).

McDavid has 31 points in 10 games played.

That is unreal.

Maybe it's time separate his goals and assists in the hockey pool.

Nice return considering. I think CH is a Luongo level goalie who like Roberto can struggle mentally under pressure in the big games

Mercer is a damn good player plus all the auxiliary fluff...I'd be happy
