Do you plan to watch more, less or the same amount of Canucks hockey this season?
I know there's a few of you who don't bother with the games much these, but I was wondering for those who watch often if the interest is there this year?
I have watched most games the past few years, and will likely start watching regularly, even if we're losing more than usual. But to keep me watching, there has to be some effort and pride from the players - it will be interesting to see how this team starts out, and if they can keep us fans retained for the whole season.

Not planning to renew Snet.
We'll watch games on Prime and highlights on YouTube.
Pretty much decided on this. There's more to life.

I'll tune in as much as possible, life is busy so it's not always possible.
Likely the same as the past couple years at this point.

I’m similar. Dunno if I’ll splurge for SNet+, but will watch what games I can. I just may not watch them to the end if the score gets ugly.

I may try and sneak down to Pen for the kids camp.
I could count on one hand how many partial games I watched last year. Haven’t had cable in close to a decade. I’ll likely try and catch one or two early to see how the kids on the blueline have improved. Beyond that…

I still have cable; I'll watch when I remember there's a game on if I'm home.

I’ll watch them a fair bit, probably a little less. ESPN + package in the states really isn’t a bad deal, given all it comes with. I’d get it just to watch other teams, truth be told. But it won’t be “must watch”, it’s just the day typically starts winding down at 9 pm and hockey beats reading that book 4 nights out of 5….
I did check out of watching more or less during the Torts year and the McCann year. Otherwise, I’ve been all right actively suffering (ie watching) through this post AV declared disaster.

I'll plan to watch every game, as I do every year. If the hockey is exciting, fun, entertaining I will watch. Like most years I imagine I will find it difficult to watch a full game. Mostly this year I want to see how the defence comes together and hopefully one or two of the kids up front. I am interested in how Lekkerimaki develops, if he does. Want to see how Ohgren and Rossi play for us for a full season. Want to see how Pettersson rebounds, if he does. Like to see how Raty has improved. So basically I want to watch to assess who I see as keepers and build around. But if the hockey sucks I will tune out early.
I dont think we will see many, if any of our high hope draft picks this year. Maybe just Cootes. But there are a couple of prospects both on D and offence who played in Abbotsford last year that should get a look with the team at some point this year. So for me it is all about assessing what we have, and don't have.
Ill also tuning in if we make any significant trades.

I plan to watch about the same. I don't watch all the games, but I do PVR most of them. If a game turns out to be a good one, I'll go back to watch it; if we sucked, just delete. I make it more a priority to watch opposing teams that I like or has players that I would like to see (ie: TO, EDM, SJ, CHI, WASH, PITTS, etc).
That being said, I am kinda looking forward to the season. Oddly, I think I'm more enthusiastic this season over last. I don't expect playoffs or anything, but I don't think we'll end up dead last again. I'm thinking we'll finish like bottom 5-10th. We'll prob hover around a wild card spot for a bit, but prob fall out of contention by the all-star break. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the new guys and see how the young guys develop over the course of the season. The main thing for me, just no drama! Just give me a bunch of doods who will battle hard for each other, the jersey they wear and the fans. No one expects playoffs, but just play like a team that gives a shiz and it seems like we have this x-factor with our current group.

I really enjoy watching the progress (or lack thereof) of the drafted prospects so shit years hold my interest almost more than when you gather all the entitled twats into one group and try to wade through all their egos and contract nonsense.

You know if Demko is healthy all year, a big if, we could very well be a wildcard team. He is that good.

..lever said..
Tracks.
Since exiting a March 9/24 game versus the Jets Thatcher has played in 43/193 games....so actually 22%, much lower than Mëds predicts.
The hope that he will all of a sudden be (and stay) healthy, find his game and garner a high end positive asset return feels a tremendous hope and reach scenario.
But..alas...we are all Canucks.

Wouldn't that just make management more eager to trade him?Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2026 7:13 pm You know if Demko is healthy all year, a big if, we could very well be a wildcard team. He is that good.
I know he has an NMC, but I would expect that a player at that stage of his career would rather have a shot at going all the way, no ?
