Now the bad news.
What are the odds of that 1st making it to 2030/31?
One thing that hasn't changed is FatAss still owns the team.

The Ranger pick is top ten protected Nucker, so THG (Bettman and the league) can piss off.Nuckertuzzi wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2026 4:45 pm What I'm most happy about with the Meaty deal is the Miller trade tree, that started with a 1st rounder in 2019, could now live on and branch out for another decade, plus.
It's essentially undoing the colossal mistake of the Meaty trade and punting the NYR's 12th OA in 2025 to 5/6 years down the road. And hopefully, if HG's are done punishing us by then, give the Rangers the lottery win in 2031.
I'm close to giving up on Mancini. I'll give him one more show-me year but that's pretty much it.
Any kind of positive value from Chytil, whether he can get healthy and play and/or net something positive in return, is a bonus and not any kind of expectation.
So the only thing really to show would be DoC and what he could get back.
Now, the other parts matter less and would just be icing on the cake if they work out. This return is huge.
let's run it back

All good. This scenario would be the ultimate poetic justice for what the League has done to us with the draft nonsense all these years.
Even if that doesn't happen, gotta believe the Rangers will be bad enough in 3/4 years that we'll have at worse a high teen pick.
With the way the Sharks made out like bandits at the draft that left everyone in awe, maybe we can have our version by then. Just hope between now and then we can find our version of a Celebrini already in the fold. Maybe not a player(s) that good, but no doubt we'll have several good cracks at landing some good pieces for sure.

MCP is gruntled with the work thus far
Subtracted a whack of non Canadians.
Added a bunch of Canadians.
No team has ever won a cup with less than 8 Canadian's. Average number of Canadians on a cup winning team is 12.
We still need a few more.

Also no team has ever won a Cup with a player making more than 10 sheets per....
Scoot 'er dude.
Don't let the door hit yer ass on the way out....
@Megs....yeah I saw Zach and CBJ kissed and made up as his agent brokered a Kumbaya session.
Had done my fair share of posting by then so thanks for bringing it up...

The hope is that 8-12 will come mostly from the draft. No realistic talk of Cup until 5 to 8 years from now, so plenty of time to add more.
Cootes and Manny Jr. should take care of two of them.

Surprised the Rags moved out the captain's (Millzy) good bud and childhood friend.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2026 4:35 pm If you'd told me that Drury would not get a first for Trocheck and would be trading a first for Marcus Pettersons, I would have beat my head against the wall.
Still found it odd when Allvin signed him for $2M, but gave up on him after like half a season. Sure, he struggled a bit, but he deserved some patience. Good for Vinny.
