It was definitely Tyler Myers fault. His departure coincided with the repair in the room according to the blathering one

Definitely TM

Locker room dysfunction description per Socialz:

"It was described to me like there was a mean girls type of group with the team that would pick on guys...They were tougher on certain guys. Be more cutting with their commentary."

Saw it on X this AM yeah.

Take it for what it's worth.

Also saw this...

Thought Evan Gold could be someone Canucks would be interested in because of the retool Bruins did.

...who I brought up here as an option for FA to clean house and start anew months ago.

That was followed by a "but I doubt FA has ever heard of him" lol.

Allegedly the Leaves are looking Gold up.

It doesn't sound like it was the vets

“If you grow in the right way,” said Teddy Blueger, “I think the sky is the limit for this team going forward.

“In terms of what it takes to win, the daily habits, the professionalism, the discipline — not just half the time, but every day — you show up to work, you’re diligent every day, you’re prepared. I think at certain times of the year, that was lacking. I think we lacked some unity at certain parts of the year, where we didn’t fully trust each other … Guys weren’t willing to put themselves on the line for the betterment of the team.”

If the picking on guys didn't constitute a crime, then suck it up buttercup. That's what I'd tell those in the House of Wounded Feelings.

But I'd also smack the the mean girls on the side of the head if they are being objectively obnoxious. Because whether the House of Wounded Feelings are whiny children or just not sufficiently thick skinned, if what the mean girls are doing is contributing to a worse product, I don't want it. Don't kid yourself, there's no more honor in being a dick than being a whiny bitch. Not saying guys can't call out other guys, but if you aren't calibrating it for success, then its just a different kind of emotional outburst or virtue signal. And it gets particularly bad/dividing when the guy who is calling out the rest has his own problems and then some. If you are that guy showing "emotion," who is deluded into thinking you are the only guy who cares, but who manages to get caught out multiple times a game with long shifts and lazy or out of gas back checks, well, that can really screw a whole franchise, doesn't it?

This is also true. If the leadership in the room is either doing it or condoning it - and I'm not just re-litigating old issues, but where was Captain Quinn in all this??? - then no wonder the room went to shit. Look how much they stuck up for each other before the TDD. You'd see Myers or Kane react, but even with Kane you felt he was doing it out of obligation than any sincere cohesion. Funny how the talk of a 'change of vibe' kind of coincided with Hronek and Bluegers dropping them for the kids.

Funny thing is, you take these snippets and look down the timeline through the lens of who would have been on Teams "Bully" and "Fee-Fees" and things start to clear up. We don't need to think too hard to ID who was on Team 'Fee-Fees' or 'Bully' or caught in the middle either, and I can wonder what it was like for the likes of Sushi, Podkolzin or the other kids before Hughes got traded. I don't know if it would be useful to divvy up who was on what side, except I would lump Tocchet under 'Team Bully'. When you see the exodus, you don't have to look too hard to see management committing to the Dickless Swede - who Tocchet may have thrown up his hands at, management trading a 'Tocchet kind of guy' in Miller, to Tocchet saying he's out, to Hughes saying he's not re-signing, to Sherwood and Garland getting sent packing. We can all wonder what might have been, had they traded the Dickless Swede instead. The lesson to learn is that management has to shape the Fee-Fees into competitive form early on or jettison them no matter how talented - or get a coach and/or Captain who can manage the bullies and the Fee-Fees.

Whatever went on it had to be beyond the norm for it to escalate and deteriorate to where we are now. It was bad enough for Evander in Winnipeg. Have to think it had to be that level and beyond. But for it to suddenly seem to get better after the trade deadline is what confuses me. I just can't see players like Myers, Sherwood, Garland, Kempf being a problem. So I just don't buy that part of the JR excuses. Whatever problems there were were not on these guys. Unless the new leaders felt so intimidated by their presence they had no balls. Like I don't buy the narrative or timeline. I buy there was a problem last year.

What suddenly changed that made the vets step up all of a sudden?? Was it simply the new realization that they survived the TDD and now this is their team?? Was it the new guys? I really would like him to explain, without name dropping how that all worked.

The one RoboSwede comment from around the time of the Miller trade that I keep going back to was "it was something would have easily dealt with back in Tocchett's playing days"

Fragile egos

Comments like "I knew Hughes was leaving" while enticing/paying his buddies to stay leads me to believe any dressing room fractures were created from above.

Internal manipulation of field employees.

Game playing.

Creation of toxicity.

Shit.

Leadership.

Owner on down.

The only fucking reason Rutherford is still here, imho, (other than AIG not wanting to keep paying people that don't work for him him) is so he can be the face of transition and sit in front of the mic answering to the media scrum so FA doesn't have to.

Also old Jimmy becomes a ready made headhunter so they don't have to hire that out either.

Headhunting your very own harbinger of death.

So Canuck.
