Heard he is as stepping down from team Canada. Blues too?
Yep, at the end of the season - Alexander Steen is his replacement.

"It's time for a change..."

- Doug Armstrong to Frankie Aqua
So now that the current Vancouver Canucks management team appears to be on track for a long rebuild, what does Francesco Aquilini think?

Sounds like the Canucks owner is into it.

<- O Rly?

“The ownership is fully on board,” Canucks insider Irfaan Gaffar said on the DFO Rundown Insider Edition podcast. “The ownership knows that it’s probably going to take at least five years until they’re really, really competitive again… You have Jim Rutherford and Patrik Allvin knowing that now :?: :!: and having the OK by the ownership.”

<- Oh, NOW they know. No more hybrid? FIVE years people. FIVE. Don't cry. Go find a new hobby and come back then to see if this thing is finished. Hopefully it's better planned than their re-upholstery project... and the baldies long gone before then.

...Even Linden sounded surprised when speaking about it Saturday on Hockey Night in Canada’s After Hours program.

“I think in 2014 when I came in [as president of hockey operations], I knew it was a tough spot to come into. There wasn’t a lot to work with there. We had a great group of guys… but they were on the back nine.

...I think it’s a bit surprising given the history.”

The Canucks currently have 10 draft picks in 2026, including two first-rounders, plus nine picks in each of the 2027 and 2028 drafts.

The proof will be in the pudding of course, and there’s a lot more work that needs to be done. But it’s a start.
TWR. Frank quietly admitted it by letting him back into the building.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

IMO Canucks also need to do a total reset in image. Get rid of the whale in entirety, get rid of anything related to orca and start with the 2 designs and colour schemes most fans like (at least the ones I know does). These or the current black jersey with skate and the hockey stick.

Maybe move away from the white home and go with a good yellow if possible.

Now would be the time to do it - build something 'new' - give the players something to rally around. Worst that can happen is that they fail at the rebuild and have to rebrand in 6-8 years. That's just more jersey sales.

Not that I plan on ever buying another jersey, and I don't have the hatred for the Orca that most have - it's a good time for a change.

Rebrand eh?

The Pacific Coilseum was opened in 1968 (ironically the first on ice event there was the Ice Capades which sort of mirrors the Canucks existence nicely)....GM Place opened in Sept '95.

So the Canucks current home barn is older than their first home barn at the time of the move.
DeLevering since 1999.

Interesting... we're not the oldest, and the late 90s were a big era for rinks. 15 from 94-95 to 99-2000
