From Canucks Army.
"According to The Fourth Period’s David Pagnotta, the Boston Bruins have re-engaged in trade talks surrounding Conor Garland. Pagnotta names Matthew Poitras and Mason Lohrei as part of a potential package.
Poitras, 21, is a 6’0″, 189-lb right-shot centreman. He is currently playing in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins. In 49 games in the AHL, Poitras has 10 goals and 21 assists for 31 points with a minus-five rating.
Lohrei, 25, is a 6’5″ left-shot defenceman. He has six goals and 17 assists for 23 points with a plus-10 rating in 54 games in Boston this season. After averaging nearly 20 minutes of ice time per game last year, he has dropped down to 16:39 in 2025-26."
Apparently Boston reengaged after the NYI stepped. Don't know what type of draft pick is being thrown around. Don't know what the NYI allegedly have offered.
We will know how close a deal is if Garland sits on Wednesday.

Tell the Isles: Garland and Willander for Schaefer or don’t call back.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..
Re: 2026 Pre-TDL Thread
The Golden Knights have acquired forward Cole Smith from the Nashville Predators in exchange for Christoffer Sedoff and a 2028 third-round pick.

Sherwood gets PAAAAAID. 36 years old at the end of that contract.
Helps having good vets on the team, with so much youth is a good thing - but they are moving into a win-cycle I think, that is going to be a tough contract in final years as they need to pay the likes of Celebrini, and keep good depth.

Management was never going to offer him that money. Good for him in getting it. He earned it.

Happy for a guy that never took the foot off the gas while he was here. Happy for us that he's off to greener pastures and we removed a piece that would have stalled this tank.

Yep, that is why he was traded. We knew his demands and we knew we were not prepared to meet them. Now if we had already traded Debrusk, Boeser, Garland and Kane maybe we could have kept him.

Re: 2026 Pre-TDL Thread
Part of me is glad for him that he won't be here for what this team will go through had he extended for five more years. A guy like him deserves a shot in the playoffs and San Jose's window to contend is about to open. His time would have been wasted here now that we're in a rebuild. Him signing here - even to a team-friendly deal - wouldn't have changed the direction this team was going.Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2026 12:09 pm Yep, that is why he was traded. Same with Myers but less so. He put in his time, tried hard though his decision-making baffled us all at times. At his age, it would have fit for him to ride out his career here and mentor the young ones instead of Sherwood, who has more career runway.

Ya gotta be happy for a player like Sherwood. Coming to Vancouver seems to extend careers and lands players that retirement deal.

Not really. He is being over paid by a few million, and at least 2 years. But, good for him, and us.
