Aquas will never sign off on a rebuild so I highly doubt the raisin will be allowed to trim the team down to the bone. I'm afraid it will be just those we are going to lose anyways, Kane and Sherwood. Boring, I know but at least it's something.

Kane didn’t come in as a free agent…..Cornuck wrote: ↑Wed Dec 24, 2025 8:49 am I just voted for Sherwood, as I see him as the top target for other teams.
If Kane walks - it's not great loss, FA in, FA out. Not sure he's proven himself to be an asset to a playoff team. (same goes for the other UFAs - we might trade 1, possibly 2 for a 4th or lower.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..
Re: What trades do you think will actually happen this season?
I don’t see Boston being a hard charger in the mix for Sherwood. His play style fits their overall organization identity, but they are fighting for a wildcard spot, and it would not surprise me to see them fall short.
Sherwood is a 3rd line player who just happens to be scoring way above his career average in a contract year. Thats the type of player that a team with right now Cup aspirations wants. He’s not a player that puts a potential wildcard team over the top.
I predict we will be very underwhelmed with what we get for this player. Partly because as fans we overvalue what we have when that commodity is over-performing, and partly because because it is just the Canuck way to get screwed by the hockey gods or simply fuck this sort of situation up by virtue of ineptitude.

When you boil it down we traded Podkolzin for KaneCornuck wrote: ↑Wed Dec 24, 2025 11:15 amAh - thanks for the correction, a 4th round pick - turned into David Lewandowski
Hey Trump, I’m ANTIFA.
Re: What trades do you think will actually happen this season?
I could see Detroit making some moves in the coming months. They have $20 mill in cap space, a full board of picks and some decent prospects to move. Perhaps JR can convince Stevie Y to take Febreeze for a prospect and a couple picks.

Detroit might be a good destination for Kane.
I heard they were looking for a LW.
It's all about the lowered expectations

I can smell what the BoS is spraying
Kane’s homecoming should be a short one. I’m good with whatever he can fetch.

So, trade one of them, after we blitzkrieg to the 1st OA?Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Wed Dec 24, 2025 9:40 am We need to keep lame-o’s DeBrusk and Boeser because their great contributions are playing a vital role in keeping us in the basement.
Give the C to Garland, the cat competes every shift.
Both DeBrusk and Boeser are streaky. Too bad they have matched cycles. But, i am ok with dumping 1 for a more consistent player.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

I voted for every option that I thought was remotely realistic.
It's based far more on hope than analysis, but my hope is that the combination of the speed and success of the California re-builds, and the effectiveness of the returns from the Hughes trades, have the Little Eagles convinced that a 2-3 season (including this one) mini/lightning rebuild would be worth the long-term value & revenue increase.
But then, I believe in Santa, too.

Just burn it to the ground?Hockey Widow wrote: ↑Wed Dec 24, 2025 2:52 am Trade them all. Get younger and more picks. With all the cap we have start trading prospects and picks to get some good vets on the team and blow the rest in free agency.
Makes no sense to me. Keep some solid veterans here while implenting younger players into the lineup the next two seasons.

Lots of chatter around EP40, Carolina & Dallas.
Smoke? Fire? Bag of Pucks? Or something legit?
A 1st RP for sure, just not sure what Van would have to take back to make the salary work for either team.

JPP is the one making the claims and should be Mickying this place with the appropriate links.
