Every media hack out there is going so spin some daily Hughes trade bullshit. Management will continue to make asinine comments about his future here, and the fans (due to 55 years of this shit) will just assume the worst.

Knowing how this franchise works, Hughes will be an integral part of the 2027 playoff run, so we'll need him - and then he'll walk as a free agent.

So I have been listening to a few podcasts lately and what I'm hearing is it seems that Foote is a shit coach.

Given the weak center ice crew he's stuck playing, is this fair?

Opinions?

(Mine is that he's the perfect fit for tank commander)

What?? The media is being negative? :D

I'm no expert, but given the number injuries, the number of people churning through the lineup and the AHL callups, I'm not going to lay of any of this season on Foote.

Imagine creating such an outhouse fire that you have to trade the best player in franchise history just as he's entering his prime. These guys are legit throwbacks to the Jack Gordon era.

^ This

Only two seasons ago, things were looking so bright.

We should be figuring out how to give the Captain his max $18M/yr AAV for his next contract and locking him up for life, yet we are left with only two guys with any sort of real trade value.

With an opportunity slapping them in the face, they rather "remain competitive" while only a single point from being the worst team in the league.

Höglander and Demko could return vs. Sabres next Thursday
While this sounds like good news - we need to remember that Hoglander will be getting into game shape for the rest of the season, and Demko will be out again by the end of the year. #CanuckLife

The real fuck up with Hughes and Petterson was in not signing them to eight year deals four years ago. Fucking mongoloids needed to lock up Tanner Pearson to a long term millstone first.

Should have Hughes and Peter locked up through 28/29 at around 9 million each.

I want no part of Hughes at 8 x 18.

Sighing Quinn at $18 million per over 8 years simply means it will be a haywire mad scramble year after year to remain competitive with little assets to use just to keep our one star - Quinn, happy.

Add in that he is installing his own defensive system which the guys apparently are still trying to figure out. Maybe it’s a matter of players still subconsciously adjusting from Tocchy Hockey to… whatever this is.

If they pick in the top 3 this year and maybe next, help should theoretically be on its way.

This is Quinns team until it's not. That must mean something to him and has been reportedly been his position.
