Kudryavtsev hits the empty net with a bank shot from deep in his own zone.
5-1 Canucks.
5-1 Canucks.

Re: Abby Game Talk Feb-April
Can Sammy Blais be an option in late February? He plays with a little bite, defensively responsible and when he came up was a very good skater, then he gimped his knee. He also goes on some real heaters offensively.
Megs what are your views? Also is Tristan Nielsen a guy who might make it? How is Harold Bains looking? Is Aman an AHL player? Im wondering about Raty and Woo?

Blais has been going pretty good lately Blob and he does have an edge to his game but not to the level you might assume. He looks like he could fill a fourth line role for Vancouver right now but to do that he would need an NHL contract. He's currently signed to an AHL fdeal with Abbotsford. He does have a pretty good set of wheels on him and he does get involved physically to some extent.
Bains seems to have regressed sinced the multiple callups, I think we've seen peak Bains already probably. Aman is what he is, you've xeen it. He's a very good player at the AHL level and a spare part in the NHL. Soft as butter as well. Neilsen is a feisty little guy who can score at this level but there's no NHL upside whatsoever.
Aside from Raty and Pettersson who you've seen the guys to watch imho are Kirill Kudryavtsev, a stocky little Russian defenseman, and Ty Mueller, a smallish center with a very well rounded game. Mueller is actually heading to the AHL all star game this weekend in Pettersson's place. Both were late round draft picks and are showing well as rookie pros. Kudryavtsev was running the first power play unit for a stretch earlier in the year and was starting to pile up some points but they've got Wolanin back in that spot in recent games. He's 5'11" probably but he carries 200 pounds so he's not exactly tiny, just a little undersized. Good skater and puck distributer from the blueline, good shot from the point. Sound defensively. Mueller can make plays, he's been centering the first line lately. He is really responsible defensively, a polished well rounded rookie. Canucks Omaha based scout Billy Pugliese watched him play at the local university and the Canucks selected him in the fourth round as a twenty year old double overage. A year later he's playing in the AHL all star game which isn't bad at all.

Thanks Meg, much appreciated
I think Lekkerimäki will be a good player down the road too if he's not dealt. Silovs seems to have settled down somewhat
Woo can't be any worse than Juulsen.

Sure thing Blob. Lekkerimaki did a face plant into the end boards two weekends ago and hasn't returned. It was a scary incident, I think he's probly missing some teeth and could also easily have a concussion.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 9:50 pm Thanks Meg, much appreciated

The two goalies have been pretty good this year but haven't really taken a step yet.
Yeah, Woo is smaller than Juulsen but probably has a little more jam. He can't be any worse.

McWard keeps the puck in at the Colorado line and throws it at the net Somehow beating Scheel to the stick side.

I posted a link to the video of it in the last month's thread. Flying face first header into the end boards a few weeks ago.
