Hornby dude. It's got an entire other island between you and the main island. Plus it's the most beautiful island in the inside passage I think

Pender is really slow and quiet Dude....especially off summer.

I like Salt Spring best.

If you're talking about moving/retiring.

Go where there is a Hospital.

That would be Salt Spring.

Hornby Island, like Pender, has a clinic only.

Access to Vancouver Island is better off Salt Spring than Pender as well.

Just stay away from Ganges Harbour and the town as it gers busy there.

Lots of outlying areas to choose from.

You can spend 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 mill or that 500 K you talked about.

You can get a fine house in a fine spot for a million.

Are there water issues on Salt Spring? Someone told me there is due to not being able to handle the growing population on Salt Spring. He could be talking out of his ass as well. I know parts of Mayne has water issues. I gather you got to do your homework on the lots and area before buying

I like Hornby a lot, we go often. There’s an awesome 6 acre lot available on High Salal on the big tribune bay side, but it’s $1.5 million. High Salal is the closest to paradise I’ve come across on any of the islands. If I was rich I’d buy it. We knew people who had a high Salal propety. No homes on it, just those yerts whatever you call them, super cool scene. Made you want to micro dose mushrooms and chase hot babes naked through the forests of high Salal. The one thing I like about Hornby is they got a boat load of sexy hippy chicks over there, tattoos and braided hair, but the super fit kind, the yoga freaks and their weird ass flexibility’s.

High Salal propety Hornby

Water will be an issue for the Gulf Islands until weather trends adjust.

Buy on Municipal water for 1.

You can get a rain water catchment with a water purification system for back up.

A few thousand bucks would set you up solidly.

The other worry over there is fire.

No Island has the ability to stop a raging wildfire in it's tracks.

Again, Salt Spring would be best served to do so however.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

What about lots ? I’m seeing quite a few lots for sale on Salt Spring in the $300,000 range. Problem is I don’t know the good areas vs the bad areas to know what’s good and not, but I don’t mind the idea of building since I know how. Is getting building supplies challenging over there?

I’m no fan of the interior, Topper. I’ve tried believe me I tried. I prefer the coast. Just how it is. The ferries don’t bother me. My cousin bought in Okanagan Falls, been there 6 months and he’s already complaining about the red neck vibe up there

It's the easiest Gulf Island to do so Dude.

Not as easy as the North Shore but doable.

Topper.

I'd fly 95% of the time.

Lots in the $300,000 range should I question? Does that seem low for salt spring?

You would have to find out if it's serviced or not.

"Gods" honest truth I don't look at a whole helluva lot of 300K lots.

A little on line research would show you the Municipal and non Municipal locales....

Like I said, away from Ganges there isn't really a bad spot....it's a cool Island.

Why not buy a pimp daddy motor yacht and go to all of them. I bet you can buy a pretty wicked cool yacht for half that price then go ashore for shenanigans wherever you want.

Full time live aboard moorage somewhere around the lower mainland is probably a fraction of property ownership costs

Not my scene, Skipper
