One-year deal worth $1 million for Bobby Ryan and Red Wings, as per
@CraigCustance DET, giving him a “show me” deal here. I’ve said before, I think Bobby Ryan has some game left. He’ll get a good chance to show that with the Red Wings.

Whoever is hoping for Gudas to sign here will be disappointed. Apparently he's a Panther now.

Flat cap is an interesting lesson on free market economics. Looks like rent controls.

Ugh, hearing that Marky is likely to sign with the Lames. Love the guy, but conflicted that he's going to be playing for that loser team if this is true....
Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Really hope not. Also saw that the Hurricanes are making a play for him. If he does sign, hopefully it is for huge dollars and NMC which could handcuff them.Raging Fury wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 10:13 am Ugh, hearing that Marky is likely to sign with the Lames. From his point of view and at this point in his career, it had to be about the money AND term. He done real good.Raging Fury wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 10:39 am![]()
Marky, I love you, but you're slightly dead to me now because you chose the Lames.
Regardless, thanks for the wild ride and memories you have given us, through thick and thin.
Think of it this way; We know his weaknesses..

that was a bit too much and 2 years too long, I think.

I have no issues with Marky making bank. He earned it and deserves it.Micky wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 10:48 am

I just don't like that fact that I'll have to hate him because he chose the Lames, although this, too, shall pass.
Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
I totally respect Marky holding firm on the NMC and expansion protection - he's earned it, but he just wasn't gonna get it here.
Now hopefully, we will shortly see a return to Ian Clark-less Markstrom, and the goalie graveyard of Alberta continues
The Flames left themselves only $10 mil to sign 3-4 forwards, and 2-3 defencemen. Too bad none of their RFAs are worth offer-sheeting, cuz you could really mess them up with one now!

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
That's probably right. Well at least he should be good for the first half of his contract. Goal was the biggest weakness for the Flames (among others) and they managed to address it. First decent goalie we've had since Kipper. Anyway, the Canucks did well signing Holtby - with Thatcher the snatcher, it should be a great tandem.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Really? They only need one d man and possibly a couple of 3rd and 4th line forwards - easily done with the cap space they have. Also, I expect a trade or two - possibly Gaudreau, so the cap space is still in flex.ESQ wrote: ↑Fri Oct 09, 2020 10:54 am I totally respect Marky holding firm on the NMC and expansion protection - he's earned it, but he just wasn't gonna get it here.
