Grew up in North Delta and there was a pig farm across the street run by chinese folks with kids the same age as me. One lunch from their Mom's wood stove had me turned off westernized chinese food at a very young age.Megaterio Llamas wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 12:39 am But you must miss our local Westernized Cantonese food Cornuck. We all grew up on that shit around here and it's always the thing I miss most of all food wise whenever I'm away.

I know that people love ketchup chips even in the UK
But I never could see the attraction. Dip regular plain in actual ketchup?

The mother and daughter tandem that used to own the Flour Bakery in the village here used to make what they called their Horseshoe Bay bar which was basically a reverse Nanaimo bar.
But yeah. Nanaimo bars too...

I like my chips dry and crunchy (the way God intended them).
Also ketchup has vinegar in it and I'm not a fan of dat dere.
And I'm guessing the chips have other seasonings and extra monosodium glutamate.
But the biggest thing is, other chips disappear but no one ever steals my ketchup chips!

Anyone remember O’Ryans sour cream and onion? They disappeared years ago. But those and Thunder Crunch kettle chips are sorely missed.
Old Dutch Double Dutch were awesome too. The narrower krinkle cut but twice as thick and crunchy.
If not chips then Snyder’s of Hanover make some killer pretzels.
Purdy’s Mocha Melties are wickedly good.

Yes. You’re the only one.Strangelove wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 7:55 pm Ketchup potato chips!
Am I the only one who loves those things?
I’ve tried them, and they’re edible, but as a potato chip flavour they rank right at the bottom alongside some lychee potato chips my daughter brought home from China, lime &mint potato chips and apple pie flavoured potato chips.

Apparently, Americans are willing to pay Amazon to have Crispy Crunch delivered to them. I remember they were in the US in the ninety's when I spent so much time there but it stopped. They're an acquired taste. I hated them as a kid. Now, if I have the need, that's the one I want.

I love pickled herring, but I've never had fermented herring. Is there much difference between them?
