30 years ago I gave up trying to figure out my sleep patterns, home office is great for it though

Recognized that due to his family ties to WE the decision needed more vetting but still didn't believe he should recuse himself.
Has no idea how much his wife has received for expenses for her work with WE. Yes they paid for her trip to London in March, but he doesn't even know what hotel she stayed at. No one asked who paid for his kid to go.
It is up to organizations to register as lobbyists and Ministers and their staff to ensure groups they are dealing with have registered, but that does not apply to the PM. The underlings should have had that covered before it reached and he has no obligation to ask.
His mother wrote an autobiography about being crazy and is therefore a much sought after speaker and authority on being crazy.
It is the role of the excellent and rigorously diligent civil service to vet groups they are doing business with and those honest hard working folks never found fault with the shell foundation of WE or discovered the Chairman of the Board of WE had recently quit and much of the Board replaced. Nor did they know the group was in breach of its loan covenants with its bank. There were no red flags discovered by the independent, hard working honest civil servants handling the matter.
The wife had cleared with the Ethics Commissioner, her volunteer role as ambassador and pod-caster (again on being crazy - what is it with this family) with WE months ago, but Justin never thought it was needed further clearance before discussing and voting for the $543 million contract to the group that supports his wife's work.
During the pandemic response, how can the PM be expected to know details of a %43 million program, the stated government objective was to give away as much money as possible, as quickly as possible and figure out if it was done correctly later.
COVID is the get of jail free card for government spending without oversight or ethics.
