Looks like Columbus has a gooder in Kent Johnson

Decent game. Looks like Finland will take this.

But you never know. Sweden also had a 3-1 lead against Canada with five minutes on the clock… :|

And Sakari Manninen scores 6.42 into overtime! Finland wins.

They become only the third nation to win the world championship at home.
It’s just Russia and Sweden who have done it before.

They also become the second nation ever to win Olympic hockey gold and the world championship in the same year.
Sweden was the first nation to do that in 2006.

Have not checked yet if anyone is available for the triple gold club.

Edit: Filppula! At age 38 Valtteri Filppula becomes the first Finn to join the Triple Gold Club!
He won Stanley Cup in 2008 with the Red Wings, then Olympic gold and World Championship gold in 2022.

I mean, sadly she's taken, but I really like her style. This is how she dresses for a WC final! Representing her country!

Image

She early on drew some criticism from an Estonian right wing politician for her background as a supermarket cashier, but she shrugged that off, explaining she worked her way through college and claimed to be proud to represent a country where a cashier can work their way up and become prime minister.

I second that. Our former PM, Stefan Löfven grew up in a foster home and worked as a welder before going into politics.

It's not her most prominent feature, but it's there...
