Yup, OEL playing more talent up front and Scotty Bowman told Boudreau big dmen like Myers need a lot of minutes.
Seems like OEL always plays better offensively when Huggy is out. Not sure if it's just the PP time or when Huggy is in, he just sits back and thinks defence. *LOL*

He gets more defensive matchups and often has our "3rd line" for forwards when Hughes is playing. He is thinking tire fire at our blue line most shifts. He's gotta love having top 6 forwards on a regular basis, like last night.

I know Hughes piles up the assists and all but the way OEL looks on the #1 PP, I'd consider dropping QH down to the second unit and see if he can give us a thread from the back half of the powerplay. They would have to make sure the first unit doesn't ride for a buck 30 for that to work

Nice to see the Canucks convert. Good net presence. Canucks forwards beat the Knights defensemen with positioning all night. Lehner, thanks for the big juicy rebounds.

Its taken the season, but I think we are seeing Pod turn a corner. Its not on the score sheet much, but I think the chances are good that they will be in future years. Hoglander is an okay complement, but Pod could become a core player. He's certainly making the most obvious clear-for-JT move (Boeser or Garland) an even more obvious move. Let's hope he sticks it out in North America.

Pod seems to find a way to get involved on a more consistent basis. Whether it’s forechecking/backchecking, finishing his hits or making plays with the puck. He’s not afraid to go to the dirty areas, understands the play without the puck and plays with pace. Not too shabby on the draw either.

Hard to predict his offensive ceiling, but for a young kid, he’s shown a commitment to the team game. Not terribly common for young Russian prospects, but his reputation from previous coaches /managers has followed him to the NHL.

The big question is, what are his plans this summer? Does he and his wife go back home, or stay in NA? Be nice to see some other mates/upper mgmt convince them to stay and provide a positive family environment to be included in. Strange times.

.....yes BoS, well stated, the kid seems to be what reports said he was.

He also doesn't appear to have any pout in his DNA which is great to see.

Just puts his head down and gets too work regardless of what is being asked to do.

...great question!

Never really struck me tbh.

What does a young Russian kid do today when the NHL season is over?

Go home, pick up a Kalishnikov and head to the Ukraine?

Vancouver made the best of their chances and Demko made the best of the C3PO's chances
