Well I guess we're gonna need to compartmentalize the Blob goading. What else will we talk about though?
Life and happenings.

Have a take and don't suck!

Love the quips and references to something new (yes I understand the irony of what I just said above) but the redundant flame war attempts often gets me lost.

Just repeating the same thing over and over again really isn't talking or discussing, it's just ..... posting.

I want to read takes on what guys see or hear that I don't, Megs and his reviews of the baby Canucks is awesome. Guys who actually watch some young kids play and give their opinion is great. Debating moves, what we need, what should be done. Sure along the way some disagreements and insults thrown around but I think it's just the repetition of the same thing that gets a bit passé.

Just an opinion, am but a single cog in the wheel. And even when I was absent for so long the CC wheel kept a turnin!

That's just it Don, there are many subjects to be discussed, both hockey and non-hockey. There are some that drive straight on the same highway and never turn the wheel to take another road. Same old scenery. Tiresome and annoying to degrees.

There are also not enough drivers here. Sure, let's talk about Ovie (and not his nationality please). Let's discuss other players, teams, milestones, etc. Can we get enough traction or participation? I've said this before, plenty of people will pop in once every 3 months to complain, but never add anything here.

donlever wrote: Sun Mar 27, 2022 3:25 pm There is no reason debate can not continue, for instance, regarding the comparable between Bennings drafting prowess and UFA failures and the opinions of all regarding those subjects...and beyond.

But if...every...single...fucking...thread (admitted hyperbole to make my point) devolves into the same....fucking...jokes...and...jabs the opportunity for tedium to breed is ripe.
But to be fairrr...

It's been the Benning-haters vs the Benning-lovers on every goddamn Canucks message board out there!

Oh it's true... and it's quite a phenomenon indeed.

When it first became apparent (2015?) yours truly was going on and on about it.

I would definitely say the Corner has been much less savage about it than most.

Tongue-in-cheek here, definitely not so much elsewhere.

I'm not sure why this became so extreme.

Perhaps a reflection on today's polarized society?

"Pick a side on every issue and go to war against the other side?

I don't know, but it was almost impossible to avoid.

And even with him gone, it appears it's still a thing...

Speaking of that, we daren't say anything positive about a Russkie like Ovie in this day and age. :look:

As Tom Renney said ‘I’ve been part of the problem.

I’d rather be part of the solution’

I could care less about talking about Byfield and adjustments all day long. The problem is good posters not participating because of the SAME OLD LAME LOW BROW HUMOUR EVERY FUCKING DAY.

It doesn’t have to go Will Ferrel/Adam Sandler

To Herb Tarlic and Father Mulcahey.

Try John Candy and Steve Martin or Jack Lemmon and Walter Mathau

Less is more

So we circle back.

Make the site more inviting by minimizing the monotony of same old same old bang on Blob and perhaps more folks venture in.

Maximize the street appeal while continuing with the edge that keeps the Flounders away.

Maybe it works, maybe not.

But what we're doing now is surely not.

Other than for an exceedingly small group.

Well, I agree with that. The same inside jokes are boring if you want new blood and more participation.

Will curbing the same old bring that about? Let's try it and find out.

Also, true what Doc said. This isn't some CC phenomenon. In fact, that is why I'm mostly here because that shit elsewhere is way more toxic and pointless.

Yes, this is why we made a joke about it while others engaged in a bloodbath.

BTW I disagree with you on your statement:

"But what we're doing now is surely not (working)."

It's working alright, but some adjustments are certainly in order.

That's where you come in Donny...

...right, and to repeat, i believe we're better than them.

Many of us (most) have known each other for over 2 decades.

When the Cup comes, irrespective of my current lack of care, I would want to laugh and cry about it with y'all as much as with the real humans in my life.

I'll die here if it comes to it.

But not if I have to deal with #BenningBuilt for the next 30 years.

Other than Megs they're rarely around Doc.

Perhaps they actually make my point stronger ya know?

Not sure yet.

Yeah Blob, you're guilty as well my man (i believe you admitted as much above ^^^^however).

Although in Blobs defense he's at times put in defense mode by a combined onslaught.
