One thing i have noticed this year is how easily the opposition are completing passes through canuck coverage while at the same time how easily they are knocking down our passes. What is the fucking deal with that?

Re: Canucks vs grounded jets 5 PST Jonah Gadjovich era begins!
There was one clear instance in the 3rd period that showed what Green's system is...
After a bit of the usual rope-a-dope in their own zone (ie. defending), a puck was tipped towards the left half-boards. Both Pearson & Horvat were the closest ones. Immediately on instinct, Bo blasted out of the zone for a hail mary, expecting Pearson to win the 50-50 AND forward the puck to him. Guess what did and didn't happen?
Obviously, Canuck forwards' general lack of footspeed, will/battle or being completely gassed from defending, usually makes this a losing proposition and thus spend more time running around their own zone giving up more shots and scoring chances.
Since Green has been here, breakouts and passes out of the zone have been decidedly awful... and it wasn't just the quality of Dmen available. There must be some league-wide stats confirming this. They can barely make 3 consecutive passes consistently for an attack. Their O vs. D zone times are completely tilted. Only a few of the top players are able to generate some sporadic pressure each game. That's why Hughes was such a godsend to this team.
Even Willie D's piss-poor lineup was better in this aspect. Much of it was because the aged Sedins were still able to skate and pass the puck out of their own zone and into the opposition's regularly at will. You don't see that with Green and frankly, I've seen enough of this tire-fire of a system.

FFS - like he has any chance of getting resigned? I would hope at some point Benning makes some stronger suggestions to the lineup.

There is nothing that supplants real game experience. I understand yesterday because of lack of practice but he should have been in there today.

Obviously Green heard Baertschi told Gadjovich too many stories about what "REALLY" happened, and now Gadjovich will be getting the Baertschi treatment until Green is gone. Nothing surprises me about Green's decision.
The only question I have is what "REALLY" happened?

Is there still a reason at this point to "play the right way" or "create a winning environment" by dressing the likes of Hawryluk, Highmore, Boyd etc. and giving them big minutes over our actual drafted picks?
Is there?!

Also from the Fried-man:
Gerry Gallant.I don’t know what to make of Vancouver. There hasn’t been much in the way of negotiation between the team and Travis Green. When they want to get something done — Thatcher Demko, Tanner Pearson — they get it done. When they’re half-pregnant — Jacob Markstrom, Chis Tanev, Tyler Toffoli — things drag. We’ll see.
There are several veterans available and eager for work. Mike Babcock (700 wins, ninth all-time). John Tortorella (673, 12th) has no interest in retirement. Bruce Boudreau (567, third in all-time winning percentage). Gerard Gallant (270 wins, taking an expansion team to the Stanley Cup Final) is expected to get some traction this week because he’s shortly headed to the World Championships for Team Canada. There’s also Claude Julien (667, 15th all-time), who has been quiet since Montreal.

Green is daft. Why not go all out and put Edler on PP 1 to get his 100th goal? Then when he gets it, sit him out a few games and throw Olaf a bone.
