The only thing good about Hawryluk is his price tag.
Gaudette is fine in the top nine and cheap, too.
I thought he played especially well when on Miller’s wing.
They should keep Gaudette over Hawryluk.
Hoglander isn’t fast enough yet for a top six role.
Ideally he is on the third line.
Miller, Petey, Brock, Horvat, Podkolzin are in the top six.
They need one more quality player to join them.
MacEwen and Motte are fine in the on the forth line.
Beagle will be with them because he is still under contract,
but they should be looking for a Beagle replacement, maybe Lind.
Miller Petey Boeser
Podkolzin Horvat Thing1
Hoglander Thing2 Gaudette
Motte Beagle MacEwen
This line up still has Boeser, Hoglander, and Beagle as average skaters. The rest as sufficiently fast.
Think1 and Thing2 need to have speed, speed, and speed, plus grit and checking/forechecking ability.
If Thing1 and Thing2 are both wingers, they could mover Miller to the centre.
Thing1 Petey Boeser
Podkolzin Horvat Thing2
Hoglander Miller Gaudette
Motte Beagle MacEwen

Hawrlyuk needs a new contract. He's at 900k now. He aint worth more. MacEwen just isn't good enough for the NHL. He doesn't bring that much accountability anyway. Finding a replacement for Pearson is vital. Three scoring lines will not be possible till 22/23 but we have to have two.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 8:59 am

I’m hoping Podkolzin can fill one of those empty spots.
The D is also a clusterfuck
1 Hughes- by default should become a legit 1 one day
2 Schmidt
3
4 Myers -by default but is better as an overpaid 5

They can’t bring back all of Edler, Benn and Hamonic. Bring back the two cheapest ones. They are all support players at this point. I’m really getting tired of Edler trying to play goal.
I do not want to extend Pearson. Don't want to trade any picks either. Maybe Podkolzin strolls right in to a top six role but that's likely to be later.
We need another legit top six.

I think Brock is skating much better. Like the wind this year. Best I've ever seen from him.Cherry Picker wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 9:35 am

Nice work CP, at the end of day Tanner Pearson will take up one of those “Things” they seem to like him, I don’t, they might keep Vesey around. I think they like Hawryluk and might resign him and I think they like Bailey. Virtanen probably gets picked by Seattle but who knows if not he stays. Those “thing” spots I imagine will have to be bargain base contractsCherry Picker wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 9:35 am The only thing good about Hawryluk is his price tag.

Pearson and Vesey shouldn’t be back unless it’s on one year contracts. Both slow and next to useless.

They still have Roussel and Virtanen under contract unless Benning can find a way to move them, which leaves them with little cap space. The team doesn’t improve unless upgrades to Vesey, Pearson, Hawryluk, and Sutter can be found. They should be looking for younger versions of Brandon Tanev or Andrew Mangiapane, not using cap space by resigning Tanner Pearson. They can fly, forecheck hard and generally cause chaos. These are things Pearson and Sutter can’t offer. The only player I see in the system who might develop into that kind of player is Will Lockwood, but he needs more experience in Utica and won’t be ready for next season. Lind, in my mind is a replacement for Beagle in the future, not a top nine forward to start. And Gadjovich should also be starting on the 4th line if he can displace MacEwen, but he does nothing to improve team speed.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Mar 21, 2021 10:13 amNice work CP, at the end of day Tanner Pearson will take up one of those “Things” they seem to like him, I don’t, they might keep Vesey around. I do see Lind and Lockwood as future bottom 6 players, both players are good skaters and have some sandpaper to their games
McEwan is on the fence, hard to tell what side he eventually falls off on. Don’t see how you can have both Gadjovich and McEwan suiting up. Gadjovich is touch and go right now but is making major strides this year, skating is an issue for him
I actually didn’t mind what I saw in Bailey, good speed and energy
I don’t mind Hawryluk as well, hard to know if he is resigned
Sutter is not coming back
Need to put up with 1 more year of Roussel, Beagle and Eriksson
Gotta believe the Hughes, Pettersson and Demko contracts dictate a whole lotta things mainly Pearson whom I believe they want back. If those 3 really fuck the Cap, no Pearson I gather and ELC’s like Podkolzin and Lockwood may be fast tracked along with your Bailey’s and Hawryluk’s who will resign for cheap.
Podkolzin is a lock in the top 6, but if by miracle there is cap room they need another top 6. Miller, Pettersson, Horvat, Boeser, Podkolzin give us 5 of the top 6. Don’t count Hoglander out as filling out that remaining top 6 hole
Tryamkin and Rathbone may need to be forced in. Edler is a mystery, do they do him again if so it would have to be very cheap
People are forgetting about Hamonic whom is growing on me, apparently he wants to stay, he’d need a serious raise. $2.5 - $3 million per? Benn is gone if Hamonic is re-signed and Tryamkin makes his Triumphant return although Benn is looking Ok right now
Looks to me like Virtanen won’t be protected at the Expansion Draft am I correct? I could see Seattle taking him
A very important off season for Benning

He is not, jeezus hell man.
You know who is bad, Gabe Vilardi and Alexis Lafrenierre
Doyle I gotta tell you, I’m very concerned that Lafrenierre will not be as good as you are hoping. May be Huberdeau tops if all goes well

Doyle are you worried about Lafrenierre turning into the next Daigle and Byfield the next Chad Kilger? It’s not looking good
