Thats a huge ticket to spill for an analyst isnt it. I wonder if gretz was mulling it over and then the way that the coilers rolled over sealed it for himStrangelove wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 3:56 pmGreat Gadzooks, TNT is really throwing the cash around lately...Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 2:49 pmThat and the 3 million a year contract he signed with TNT to analyze the games for themJelloPuddingPop wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 1:58 pm It's so bad in Edmonton, even the Great One is jumping ship.

I'm actually really excited to see what TNT does for their coverage, Shaq and Barkley is probably the best commentator pair going (and I hate basketball), but who's going to be Gretzky's foil? He can't carry a panel by himself.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 4:47 pmThats a huge ticket to spill for an analyst isnt it. Imagine if they dragged out someone like Darcy Rota? Bieksa would be a great counterpart to Gretzky, he needs someone with more personality.
Actually what is Pronger up to? He's surprisingly hilarious and couldn't be more different from Gretzky...

I would love to see Pronger, JR, and Bieksa be on that panel.. or better yet, a podcast.ESQ wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 9:33 amI'm actually really excited to see what TNT does for their coverage, Shaq and Barkley is probably the best commentator pair going (and I hate basketball), but who's going to be Gretzky's foil? Nazem Kadri will have his appeal of the 8 game suspension heard by Gary Bettman tomorrow.

Kadri has 1 more appeal left if he doesn't like what Bettman decides.

Frankly, I'd a non-knowledgeable media personality over an ex-player with no personality whatsoever.
So I did some research to answer my own question, Pronger is a "senior adviser" to the Panthers. Perhaps once they're eliminated as well, we'll see a similar announcement?
And if not, I'm sure Rota is free
