Where will team bury their dead cap now?
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

What is Vans dead cap next year? 2.5-2.7% of their total budget? The following year it goes up to $4.8, which will likely still fall below 5% of the total budget.

Anyone care to look up what every teams dead cap amount is and compare?

Coyotes last season with their LTIR and dead cap was over $25 million. They have been a depository for other teams burying their burden.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned here yet, but finally getting hockey out of Arizona (deep, deep red) and into an actual money making situation should have a real impact on how much the cap goes up for 25/26.

If the cap goes up $4mil this summer, another $4-6 next summer is real possibility.
Under the present Memorandum of Understanding, cap increases are limited to 5% per year

... so the cap will likely only increase another $4.3M-ish for 2025-26.

The present MOU expires on Sept. 15, 2026.

If both sides agree, they could renegotiate dat dere to a higher number, but it's doubtful.

A lot of folks expect the salary cap number to explode once the MOU expires.
