I wonder if the Jayce signing seals the fate of Graovac with the Canucks organization ;)

That’s what makes it a great play.
It’s a solid play. Leave it at that. I guess you jizz all over your screen when a guy hangs a skate and stays on side, cuz you’d be fumbling around like a new born foal if you had to try that.

Bill Peters may be an asshole but he's the best thing to happen to Tryamkin's career and he'll be way better prepared for a second run with the Canucks than if he was playing under a Russian coach over there this season. I still think he'll be a good addition.
He’s been playing huge minutes and putting up some really nice stats. Him and podkolzin joining the team in March is gonna be great. He’ll be able to play opposite Quinn or schmidt and work the crease and the corners in support of those 2 agile guys. Nobody will want to go into his corner (especially not poor brad richardson after tyramkin just leaning on him broke his leg), and dumping into quinn or Schmidt’s side is a rush the other way.
It's a way better situation all around for Tryamkin and the Canucks and I think him returning at a time when they're adding some real attitude will rub off and we'll see the absolute best he has. Guys like Podkolzin, Hoglander, Rathbone, and Hawryluk are ultra competitive players that have an edge to their game, so is Lind, and considering the character Schmidt is along with Holtby being such a solid guy, the chemistry and vibe surrounding the team is going to be really interesting to watch come together over the next several months.

Totally agree, watching how Hughes elevated tanev’s game gets me really excited to see what tyramkin will look like with Hughes and Schmidt, I think it’s gonna be a match made in heaven. Top off the fact that we got some good shit disturbers and legit heavyweight in macewen it’s gonna be a fun year to watch.

The agent for Hawryluk also represents Ferland. Apparently Ferland is skating back home, attempting another return to play.

This really puts Benning in a bind.

Oct 19, 2020; JAYCE HAWRYLUK first official Canuck interview. "Just Dishin "

12:19min.
Very nervous on his first interview. Don't expect a problem with effort level.

Not much of a bind. If Jake gets 2.6m or less they can go with a 22 man roster that includes Ferland if the three players sent down are making over 1.075m. If Ferland is on LTIR they can have a full 23 man roster. If Jake makes more than 2.6m and Ferland is healthy, they’d have to go with a 21 man roster. Whatever the case, Benning isn’t going to have a problem getting under the cap (no matter what the media is saying to generate interest or clicks). Here’s an example of Jake signed at 2.6m, Ferland healthy, and Baertschi, Eriksson, and Sutter being sent down:

And that’s you assuming JB doesn’t get on his horse, and use an asset to dump a contract (if nessesary)

I still think you won’t see a shit contract traded until after the US election, and the league sees which way the COVID wind blows. Until there is some certainty with next season, owners are not going to pay ( or potentially pay ) for other GM’s mistakes.
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

However you want to characterize it, it's disappointing. To me at least. I guess I was hoping sanity would prevail after multiple setbacks last season. Ferland seems like a rare case of a player who does not care about being able to enjoy his family and the money he has earned in reasonable health post playing career. The first thing he does upon return is seemingly to look for a good fighter on the the other team to challenge.

Contrast this with Antoine Roussel's ultra cautious approach. He makes no pretense about being able to play the way he did in his pre concussion days. He has flatly ruled it out, and good for him. Ferland, I do not understand. It's a lose/lose situation for Ferland, and for the Canucks.

+1

I took your earlier post to mean he was in a financial bind of making the cap, not an ethical bind of letting Ferland play with his health issues. I agree with you completely on that issue.
