I'm not saying the guy is a great scrapper, and that's not really my expectation of him anyway, but I do think his overall play improves when he's physically involved enough to drop the mitts or come close to it even if he does get his ass handed to him. Sounds like our old buddy the Tryamkinsaurus is having a solid season in the KHL. He's logging a ton of minutes, is a shot block monster and consistently throws his big frame around (11th in league for hits). He'd be perfect to replace J.Benn on the bottom pairing after next season.

There is no more "show me". He already has! He could have been a top player in the league. He has the skills but can't devote himself to what it takes to be an elite player. Wasted enough effort on him. Maybe a change and he pulls it together. Sign and trade. I wouldn't doubt Virts has a Blaupunkt but what he really needs is a mean streak. A bit surprised by the cap hit, thought it might be a bit lower. Not a huge JV fan, kind of done with him but he does have talent.
