I dunno MadCP... Bettman would probably just take as sarcasm
... and the rest of the hockey world would hate us even more for it.

Great post, MCP!
We were the toast during and at the end of the Olympics. Wonderful place we were.
People walking around with beers.
Think what we did about 15 months later after the game 7 loss.
That was a killer to the NHL, yikes. Butthead was choked.
But it's a while back; we should try and make a good impression, some way.

How about a polite smattering of non-sarcastic applause, then?

Byram 2nd overall in WHL playoff scoring. I’d be very surprised if Chicago passes on him at 3rd pick. Podkozlin or Bryam?
If Byram is still available at Colorado’s 4th pick they have to take Byram. Makar is a RHD, Byram LHD. Makar just announced as the hobey Baker winner. One helluva a top pairing they’d have there.
Cozens and Dach putting up good playoff numbers

MCP... balls. I mean, King Kong-sized balls.
I see where you're coming from, from a league/media perspective and all. In other cases, it just might work.
This is Vancouver.
The Toronto-based media cannot stand that Vancouver can do well. Montreal, well, there's the Franco-viewing public to appease otherwise they'd secede (not like that's an entirely a bad thing, but whatevs). Ottawa, nations capital, nothin you can do. Edmonton/Calgary, they have pedigree and God only knows what those organizations have in evidence against CBC/Sportsnet. Winnipeg is the classic 'little-guy-small-market" underdog people can relate to, so you can't slag them out of hand. Vancouver is the anti-Toronto and, thus, the antichrist in the eyes of the Toronto hockey media. They will find a way to vilify the Canucks once they come back to prominence.
Bettman could care less. What happens to the Canadian markets means little to him as long as they don't win the Cup. That right is reserved for his favourite American owners. Booing or cheering him at the draft means fuck all to him. If it isn't one of his darling teams in the States, he doesn't care what happens and is quite willing to let the powers that be in Toronto dictate which teams north of the border have any success in the league. Ratings, dear boy, and Canadian teams in the playoffs don't promise any higher ratings than Columbus on American networks. Notice how New Jersey and the Rangers did in the lottery???
At the end of the day, the Canucks will have to best the will of the league Gods through virtue of their skill, strength and mettle wearing the black hat the Toronto sports media have put on them to win the Cup. No matter of cheering or booing will change that.
And when they win, I want to shove it in the face of every Canadian who dared cheer against them. In the meantime, I wish ebola on the rosters of every other Canadian team. Karma be damned.

The next Theo Fleury scored 4 goals today for USA U18 team.
COLE CAUFIELD. who is obliterating all USA goal scoring records...(I'm guessing )
Should/might still be avail at 10th overall.

I don't really feel hate for Bettman anymore. I think he imposed a cap tied to revenues, and led the league to a doubling of revenues over 12 years and a doubling of the cap.SKYO wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2019 1:39 pmIs Bettman your uncle or something? haMadcombinepilot wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 2:58 pm When the draft starts, we do something NO OTHER FAN BASE HAS EVER DONE:

Can't fault him for the only expansion on his watch - Vegas. Keeping Phoenix in Arizona has preserved an escape chute for Austin Matthews. I'm excited for his next expansion and the regional rivalry.
Fuck it, I'm on board MCP!
