Yes. It does. But you sit a guy for 2 weeks and let that heal. Then another week to work it back in in practice. He misses 10 games and is healthy for the playoffs. The team also probably flounders in February but then finishes the last month stronger when he’s back.

Too many things don’t add up around this.

I think the team is covering for his bad play and their stupid contract extension.

No injury reported for Hughes other than a bruised ego after the Nashville series

Boeser was the most banged up

Interesting.

I have zero doubts that he will work on getting quicker and learn how to move pucks faster to get himself out of those situations for next time. The kid is driven to be the best

Big Z is getting a minimum of 5.5. Pay the man. I mean that’s a bit less than Lois siphoned off the team. He gave the team a lot more in five months than Lois did in five years.

Not if we give him 8 years, front loaded.

In that case $4.5M-per might get it done.

There are ways to get rid of contracts if they become a problem down the road.

Hell no. Give up a 2027 2nd. To Chicago or San Jose. Throw in a prospect.

What do you think it will cost? It cost us a 2nd last year to offload Dickinson at half the cap hit. Monahan cost a 1st for Calgary to move a higher cap hit, but just 1 year left. There are other examples. It's not going to cost a 5th as someone else said.

Man a 2nd is still a lot. Our prospect pool is thin and those picks are value at the trade deadline. That 2nd to unload Dickinson hurts.

Yup. Gold can still be found in the 2nd round - like Hoglander, Demko gold.

Here is the thing, who should the Canucks #1 priority be in re-signing their FAs? (both UFA and RFA)

I like this line of thinking. Get it done!
