Re: Is there anything better?!?

To be perfectly honest, I preferred the Flames who crashed and burned in the first round. The rivalry between us and them is starting to fade I feel, and it won't be long before it slides into the 'meh' category like the one with the Avs a few years ago. I duno what it is, but I just feel a lot less...

Re: Canucks Sign Jordan Schroeder

Grabner came into the league as a floaty do nothing, and while he's not much of a defensive presence he's a hardworker with a nose for the net. Everyone loves a player who can play at both ends of the ice, but you still need score guys to put the puck in the net. As for Hodgson being a permiter play...

Re: Kesler resigned

The more I think about this deal, the less I like it. That is way too much money off the cap. I don't see how we are going to improve the team, let alone keep it at the point it is now. Who's to say the team needs that much improving? Kesler is 25 years old, maybe in 2 years he's putting up 80-90 p...

Re: Canucks Sign Jordan Schroeder

Schroeder can be a good player, but he's got to prove that he didn't benefit entirely from playing with Ryan Stoa in his freshman year. If he'd been a highschool player going into college for his first year most fans would've been impressed with his performance, but his first year really set up his ...

Re: GDT: Canucks host Sharks - 7pm - TSN

Pretty lacklustre second period, but it was awesome watching Johnson score. Hopefully we'll play like we did in the first for the rest of the game.

Re: What's up with Willie?

Willie has had some gaffs sure, but the truth is he's a stabilizing factor on our back end when he's healthy. I'm too lazy to do the math, but I'm pretty sure you'd notice a pretty sharp increase in our GA when he's not in the lineup. Considering our absence of a true checking line, he's the only th...

Re: Players having career years:

A lot of these career years have a lot to do with the fact that we're scoring more than ever before. I think a lot of that has to do with Ehrhoff being added to the back end. He quickly established himself as our number one, and a lot of our forwards have fed of his puck movement. Plus having a defe...

Re: GDT: Canucks @ Ohlund & Co. - 4:30 - PPV

I missed last night's game, but what is with us getting 40 shots a game, and only 1 or 2 goals? A total lack of finishing and three posts? The Sedins have been totally neutralized lately, and our second line is only going to get us so far. Plus with all the injuries on the back end Ehrhoff isn't ju...

Re: Hansen, UFA

Hansen is an RFA at the end of the year, so unless some team inexplicably throws an offer sheet at him he'll be a part of the organization. I imagine he'll be given a 2 year contract at around what he makes now to see if he can cut it as an NHLer, if not he can go back to Europe or something. With t...

Re: Sedins

I think a 100 point season from Henrik would be incredible and an emphasis on their suddenly incredible careers. They're 5th and 6th respectively in all time Canuck scoring while just entering the prime of their careers with 4 more years left on their current deals. I think there's a good chance the...

Re: GDT: Canucks host the Sabres - 7pm - Snet

Another day, another home win. I like this team a lot right now. That no goal call against the Sabres was kinda bullshit, but we need those bounces. I'd say we're even for that Auger thing now, can we all move on? I'm very glad we're taking advantage of our home streaks right now, because I get the ...

Re: GDT: Canucks host the Hawks - 7pm - CBC

Good win, could've been better on the limiting shots and not sitting on our haunches department late in the game. The team responded really well to the Toews goal, it's nice having a line we can throw out at any point and not only expect a scoring chance but a total momentum shift each time as well....

Re: Could Burrows and Raymond hit 30 Goals?

I see both of them finishing in the mid-twenties for goals. They've both been pretty inconsistent this year in terms of goalscoring, and I don't see that chaning any time soon. Don't forget that before Burrows scored that empty netter against Dallas 3 games ago he'd gone 10 games without scoring. He...

Wouldn't we be looking for a high building to jump off had we let them walk for nothing? ESPECIALLY considering that would have been toronto... gawd! Was Brian really on a plane when they signed? I hope so... 8-) We'd have been absolutely screwed if they hadn't signed. Considering our alternative w...

Re: Canucks in the Kovalchuk sweep stakes ?

Kovalchuk is a pipe dream. It seems there's some star player we are pursuing each year, and other than Sundin, it never comes to be. Firstly to get Kovalchuk you'd have to imagine Hodgson and a sold roster player ala Edler or Kesler would be the STARTING place. Secondly, we'd have no guarantees on a...
