Re: 2025-26 OOTS: Playoffs Edition

I think we're locked in at 24 if the Avs can close out one of the next three games. Not too bad a spot, and IMO should be a decent spot to take someone interesting even if one of the Rucks is off the board by then. I believe if the Avs finish off the Wild, the Canucks will draft 23rd because both ...

Re: Another one bites the dust

A while back I was trying to recall one of my earliest memories of watching a game from the stands. There was an huge brawl that went into the crowd in the old Chilliwack Coliseum. I was a kid at the time, and all these years later, I couldn’t figure out how two team in different leagues even played ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft

If it’s a tie between picking Malhotra, Stenberg or Carels, maybe the tie breaker should be who will make the best Captain, who will lead their team into the fight… and that’s probably Carels.

Re: What We've Got (Looking Ahead With Current Contracts)

They should trade age for picks, and sign more age to trade for more picks. Keep the under 25s and see if some of them blossom. At this stage of the rebuild, winning is secondary to providing opportunities for youth to develop.

Re: What We've Got (Looking Ahead With Current Contracts)

Boeser might have some residual value. If he does, move him. Every year the league is getting faster, but Brock isn’t. Great guy, but his negative plus minus record wasn’t something he’s going to improve much. A good GM is going to get him playing with some good skaters, up his value a little, and mo ...

The GM job short list poll

There are five left in the running according to Rutherford, with recently Dorion holding the lead. We don’t know specially who the five are, but I’ve narrowed it down to seven rumoured people. Of those, who do you think is the best pick for the Canucks GM job?

Re: Draft Lottery Destiny

Chayka was hired to pander. He’ll take whoever the CEO wants. He was very accomplished at pandering to his insane owner in Arizona. We should not expect any difference now.

Re: Draft Lottery Destiny

I only saw the Sedins once before the lottery. I couldn’t tell which was which. It’s a tie!
I still shocked that anyone didn’t expect they’d be picking third.

Re: Who Do U Want to See as Next GM of the Nucks?

Biggest skill in the Toronto and likely Vancouver GM hirings is the ability to pander to ownership.

Draft Lottery Destiny

You know the Canucks will lose.
The big question is which Sedin looks saddest?
Brave quivering upper lip?
Sobbing on the floor?
Misty eyes?
Clenched jaw?
Disgust with every aspect of the organization your lot in life is attached to?

I’m just glad they are not alone and can console each other.

50% correct in round one predictions. So I’m as accurate as a coin flip. That checks.

Which twin gets the distinction of sitting on the stool sweating with the well-rehearsed, time-honoured blank, defeated Trevor Linden look on his face as another lottery dream is crushed… and Bill Daly chuckles.
