Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Bozak wants a billion dollars over 8 years to stay in Toronto. Well more like... close to $40mil. :mex: Am I the only one wondering how Pigtown is gonna sign all their RFAs under the cap, let alone pending UFA Bozo? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=428209 Leaves sign Gunnarsson to a 3-year $9.45 mil...

Could have made it work by not extending Higgins or by trading Burrows a few weeks ago.Topper wrote:SL didn't figure that extra $5mil and a shrunken cap.
At any rate, the Oilers have hooped themselves and that's a GOOD thing!

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Well four months ago the Great Strangelove predicted: "Gagner is prolly gonna demand $6mil after the way the Coil jerked him around last summer." The arbitration hearing is tomorrow and Sammy is apparently seeking $5.5mil: http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/blog/eye-on-hockey/22827924/nhl-rumors-sam-gagne...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Seeing as concussions are the result of the secondary impact I don't see how a little bit of cushioning changes things. Approximately HALF of NHL concussions are estimated to be the result of secondary impact there Physics Boy. :scowl: Anywho, call me old-fashioned, but I say bring fighting back in...

Seems like he's saying Brule is done and he doesn't wanna say why lest he ends up in Aaron's shoes.Blob Mckenzie wrote:who is done Blaster ??

Well the salary cap is expected to rise substantially and the only other player looking for a significant raise is Kassian?Jovocop wrote: Tant, underpaid is the key. Hansen is probably looking for a huge pay day next season. Would the Canucks be able to re-sign him?
No problem doubling Hansen's salary IMPO.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Hansen + a pick for Clifford? A soon-to-be UFA for a RFA who requires a raise. I hate to lose Hansen but Clifford would definitely upgrade the Canucks' toughness. Yeah no, we'll be re-signing Hansen thank you very much. I don't think the kings want a contract coming back. Cap crunch. Probably after...

I hope damon's not dead too. Crazy dopesick bastard's kind of grown on me.
Although for a bog-jumpin swill-guzzlin drug-fiend… he’s not half-bad!

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Jacob Markstrom signed to a two-year extension.
Interesting that the first year is a 2-way.
Also Tallon said they're not handing the #1 spot to Markstrom.
That means the #1 goalie in Florida next season will be one of:
Clemmensen, Markstrom....... or Luongo!

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
I'm going to guess this is another Islanders special along the same lines as the deals they signed Nielsen (2, 2.5, 3, 3.5) Okposo (1, 2, 3, 3.5, 4.5) and Grabner (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).. Nice guess Dave but it looks like Bailey will be getting $3.3mil per. http://capgeek.com/player/1084 No way Bailey was...
