Re: Canucks Young Guns
I understand that +/- is a fairly useless stat, and given quality of opponents that Juolevi faces vs. Teves and special teams etc. (Guessing here - never watched a Utica game). But it is striking to me that Juolevi is a -1 on a team that has gone 5-0, outscoring opponents 29-11 while Teves is a +12...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Two year deal. Not bad. I'd rather have him for two years than Sbisa for three at 3.6. Is there a player in the league we wouldnt rather have than Sbisa at that contract ? Other than David Clarkson there isn't a worse contract in the NHL than Luca Sbisa's. Andy macdonald, engelland, lecalvier, hems...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Stewart's cap hit is 1.7mil. Not really something I would consider "high." And certainly a more useful player than Prust not to mention cheaper. "Character" is the only issue I would see as a negative to that signing.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
The Ducks have a pretty low internal cap that they have enforced, I would think this signing means they are going to have a lot of young players in their lineup in the coming years. Though they seem to have a good amount of talent in that area.Boston Canucker wrote: And the Ducks have a lot of cap room to work with.

Re: TV Shows: What are you watching?
I use a projector for a lot of the movie/sports watching as I prefer the picture (and love the 120" screen). Though I have a dedicated Theatre Room in my basement which helps. If you are using it in your living room w/ windows and perhaps don't want to mount it (ie: not a dedicated theatre room) I w...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"
The local sports media's latest "second half slide" story is only 3 days old and gaining momentum. Maybe it will shame/inspire the team for a better effort. Speaking of media, whats the story on Barry Macdonald,he was away for a long time, thought he'd been replaced by Moj I doubt the Vancouver medi...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
Strange question - but how is it that the leaves can put Nylander in the AHL with the Marlies? Something to do with the amount of "pro" games he played in Sweden? Or am I just missing something obvious here?

Brayden Schenn signed cheap. Any team would be happy to have him in the 3C spot at that price!

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Wow...Kovalchuk retires...what a shock. Guess with the money in the KHL now, other guys could follow. Only the guys whose competitive nature are less than desired in a NHL player. Or guys who want to play at home. I don't think Kovalchuk's competitive nature was less than desired, he was a PPG play...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Wow. NHL Bizarro world. This has been one of the strangest off seasons in recent memory. Alfredsson a Red Wing, Iggy a Bruin, Horton a Blue Jacket, Lecavalier a Flyer... now Kovalchuk walking away from 77 million dollars. I'm sure he'll play in the KHL at some point and make some good dough there - ...
