Abby Game Talk January/February 2023
Scored some free tix for tonight's game vs the Silver Knights.
Pod looking very disinterested during warm-up. Hoggy his usual energetic self.

3-3 in the 2nd intermission.
Bains with a tip-in on a pass across the crease, Klimovich with a one-timer from the left face-off dot, and Pod with a beauty wrister from the same spot on the PP.

Pod slows the game down, makes some nice plays, but his teammates' play is too frantic.

The Pod line really turned it on at the end and Di Guiseppe ended it with a backhand swipe to bat it in the net with 1:15 left. Great game for the kids!

Yeah, there are always kids in the stands at AHL games wherever they are, it is a great event for kids. For every hockey fan really.5thhorseman wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 10:04 pmHa! I was amazed Henderson didn't tie it in that scramble at the end, they did everything but. Was great to see Kupsky get his first AHL win, he has really paid his dues.

So is Rathbone the next one eyed Rafferty? Has he sulked since he went down or is he putting in the work Megaterio Llamas?

He started off in a bit of a sulk probably, and missed a few games recently, but he's going full tilt out there now rushing the puck and making plays at both ends of the ice. Still, I would say Jett Woo probably deserves a call up before Rathbone does. He has really come into his own this year. Klimovich has made huge strides as well and looks like a real prospect now.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 7:58 pmSo is Rathbone the next one eyed Rafferty? Of the forwards though, Linus Karlsson is probably most deserving of a call. I was wrong about his skating not being good enough, it's kind of ugly but he gets around the rink with it pretty good. He has an almost Alex Burrows like talent for getting under the opponents skin, I'm not sure how he does it but the opposition is always mad at him. And he puts up offense. He's playing on an all Swedish line with Aman and Hoglander which is pretty dynamic at that level.
Silovs looks like the real deal in the nets. He's been a workhorse since Delia came up.

Karlsson with a fancy between the legs goal to put the Canucks up 2-1 late.
A 2-1 victory for the Abbotsford Canucks.

Hey Megs, you’ve mentioned a few times how Woo has emerged as one of the better defenders this season for Abby. Looking at his stats doesn’t say much. How about a scouting report?
