Going for what? Losing the lottery and moving down a couple of spots in the draft order?

Armchair Chef is askin’, if the smoke out of Columbus according to Friedman is real regarding their interest in Horvat what is realistic trade between the two clubs? And would anyone of these assets be involved:
Johnson
Sillinger
Cuelemans
Jiricek
Mateychuk
Marchenko
2023 1st rd pick
Johnson
Sillinger
Cuelemans
Jiricek
Mateychuk
Marchenko
2023 1st rd pick

Marchenko played with The Pod in the KHL. He was the trigger man for the Pds digging on the forecheck.
Johnson and an unprotected 2023 1st likely are not available. Maybe 2024 1st, Sillinger and Marchenko? (Still no fucking defensemen though)

Mateychuk is a decent prospect. You think they’d consider moving Jiricek?Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 9:30 am Marchenko played with The Pod in the KHL. He was the trigger man for the Pds digging on the forecheck.

I had to have another look at Jiricek and he really sounds like a fantastic right side d man in a couple of years. There may be a trade to be made centered around him but I can only imagine CBJ would be loathe to lose himChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 10:17 amMateychuk is a decent prospect. Yeah they probably ain't giving up Jiricek, Cuelemans yes tho'.
Andrew Peeke would be a great pickup to play with Hughes.

Moving Myers and Garland armchair trades.
Trade #1:
Myers to Habs
Hoffman to Flames
Zadorov to Canucks
Habs weak on RHD and they have extra forwards to move, while the Flames probably don't want to move any of their RHD in Andersson, Weegar or Tanev, and they need a top 6 winger. In addition, Hoffman had his best seasons playing in Florida with Huberdeau, Calgary should get their money's worth getting Huberdeau going.
Canucks get a bit of cap space and shore up their LHD depth.
Trade #2:
Conor Garland, Stillman, Rathbone to the Jets
for Adam Lowry, Dylan DeMelo
Jets really need a top 6 winger, the have Sam Gagner playing RW, while the Canucks need a #3C, also DeMelo has fallen down the depth chart for the Jets, playing behind RHD Pionk and Schmidt.
Miller - Horvat - Boeser
Kuzmenko - Pettersson - Joshua (bold move, but Kuz/Petey duo need a Burrows forechecker to do the grunt work, like McCarty on Shanny/Yzerman line, or Trent Klatt/Burrows on the Sedins line).
Podkolzin - Lowry - Mikheyev
Hoglander - Lazar- Studnicka
Pearson, Aman
Hughes - DeMelo
OEL - Bear
Zadorov - Schenn

Good thoughts, I like the trade but not the pairings.
Zadorov and Schenn would combine to form one of the heaviest, but the least mobile, pairing in the league. Neither of them are really puck movers.

SKYO is trying to unlock Quinn Hughes' inner beast with a higher calibre partner than LS

Yeah gives the coaches more options to move players around.
Canucks vs lighter teams, could put Hughes with double D.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 1:51 pm SKYO is trying to unlock Quinn Hughes' inner beast with a higher calibre partner than LS

Whats Schenn goin to be worth at the trade deadline??
Top hitter in the league
Cheap af
drops the mitts
Knows how to win in the playoffs/Cup pedigree
think some desperate team looking for a long run calls asking about him?

The Flames aren't trading Zadorov for Hoffman. Zadorov has been one of their best D men (just behind Tanev), so no way he is getting moved. If he were to get moved, it would have to be for more than Hoffman.

If the return is good enough, and he's wanting to go compete for a Cup (it's a foregone conclusion imo that we aren't making the playoffs), then trade him and get one of the players to message him that we'll re-sign him in the summer. He's a bargain player for what he brings and he's what this group needs in that role.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 9:57 pm Whats Schenn goin to be worth at the trade deadline??

Schenn has resurrected his career. Probably best to move him. I can’t see any reason he’d want to return to this tire fire next season.

Making trades in todays NHL are a damn near impossibility. Really not seeing any would be suitors this early on. May have to ride it out for awhile until the TDL, let the losses mount
