Abby Game Talk October/November/December 2022

Post by Megaterio Llamas »

So it seems I have missed the first two games of the season here with the third one currently underway down in Coachella vs the expansion Kracken kids. I guess I had mistaken the first home game Friday 28th as the season opener.

Oh well, a belated game on I guess. We'll attempt to catch up as best we can here :)

Good game for Dries, the guy's a star in the AHL. Only the Nielsen goal and Juulsen winner were posted by the Canucks, a good shot by Juulsen. Efficient PP and killed 5 of 6 penalties. Looks like they were playing in the Kraken practice rink in Seattle, I guess it'll be the same venue Sunday.

Here's the lineup for today's game. Defense and goaltending look to be pretty solid but the forward group looks pretty weak this year though Di Giuseppe and Dowling should really help when they get back in.

Yep, the Seattle practice rink it is as the new rink down in Palm Springs isn't quite ready yet. Return Sunday is at Climate Pledge in Seattle.

A veteran laden lineup for Coachella with veteran coach Dan Bylsma behind the bench.

*old One Eye Rafferty rockin' his trademark combover on the Coachella Valley blueline.

**former Canucks fan favorite Kole Lind patrols the wing for the Firebirds.

***though he is very intelligent Karlsson's skating is substandard even at this level.

Arseneault took a healthy run at a Firebirds player but got nothing but boards. He is on his back on the ice possibly out cold.

Now up and skating off.

Woalanin is a far better defenseman than Stillman.

Karlsson had what should have been a clean breakaway in the Coachella zone but Rafferty caught up and passed him stripping away the puck with ease. My gawd his skating is just horrible.

4-2 final score {Abby}

*so linesmen are now linespeople at least in the opinion of the Abby pbp broadcaster...

I saw the clip of Arseneau hitting the boards on CA, it looked pretty bad. They probably had to fix the boards after the game as well. Nielsen's off to a solid start, I think the Canucks need to offer him an NHL deal before another team does. Too bad Focht will be coming out when Dowling returns, I don't know how his overall game is, but it's a shame to remove a guy when he's scored a couple of games in a row.

Karlsson doesn't seem to have a future here, I wasn't impressed with him at the main camp, and unlike Aman, it's not as though Allvin has anything invested in the guy other than he's a Swede.

Just wait, they'll have to change the term away from "linespeople" at some point soon. The attention seekers who don't identify as male or female will move the yardsticks and stop identifying as people, taking offense to the linespeople term and demanding a change, so that they can bring a whole new level of attention to themselves.

The internet SJW will hop on the bandwagon and cancel anybody or anything objecting, and the change will be made to spare the non-male/non-female/non-people crowd from being scarred for life over the words and terminology. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Focht was noticeable last night with his skating and playmaking, he seems to have taken a step. I'd say Regush or Hirano will come out before he does.

Arseneault seemed to lunge at his opponent there and lost his balance.

The woke broadcaster is some annoying though.

Should be 'linescreatures' for the sake of those that self-identify as aliens...

Rematch goes now down at Climate Pledge, Here's tonight's lineup.

Di Giuseppe, Schliemann and Kannok-Liepert make their season debuts.

Arturs Silovs starts his third straight game after I guess Colin Delia had been in for an 8-2 blowout loss in the season opener.

Here's an audio link that should be good for all Abby games this season:

Jimmy Schuldt just beat Silovs 35 second i9n on a rebound from the left boards. 1-0 Firebirds.

Hirano just tied on the pp from Di Giuseppe.

Bad feed today with alternating audio/video problems.

Video lagging around 30 seconds behind the radio feed.

Wolanin scores a beauty to make 2-1 Abby and then Wolanin gives it away behind his goal and just like that it's c2-2.

Jesper Froden fools Silovs with a shot while falling to the ice which goes though the five hole.

And it's 4-3 Firebirds.

And Surrey's Michael Regush chases Gibson wit a nice wrister shorthanded. In comes Callum Boeth. 4-4

5-4 Coachella now 7 minutes into the second with Silovs getting lit up.

Ryker Evans beats Silovs from the blueline and it's 6-4 Firebirds.

Final score was 7-4 Coachella Valley Firebirds.
