We're All Doomed!™ (the Conquest, War, Famine, and Death Thread)

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

You've just described almost every conspiracy theory in 2 sentences. :D
I don't think there has been any grand co-ordinated effort (they aren't that smart), but the fact is governments at all levels have used the pandemic to consolidate power and erode personal freedoms.

Canada's military has admitted using the pandemic to test its propaganda machine.

Health Canada has admitted to buying tracking data from cellphone companies to track the movement of the populous.

The Federal and Provincial governments have restricted movement of goods, services and people.

A functioning Federal Parliament was one of the first items of attack.

Private enterprises have been nationalized in the healthcare sector.

We are now seeing universal health care coming under attack.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

We're talking about a virus that was over 99% survivable under 60.
And in a group of 10,000 people that means 100 people die. Most people would find that thought horrifying.

But you do you.
There are more dangerous things out there than 99% survivable Covid, and we live with them daily. Take driving for instance….
If 3% of car rides lands you in a hospital bed, you’re doing it wrong.

And if close to 1% of drivers died in any given year it would have been outlawed ages ago.
A country could lose a third of its population in just over thirty years...
Whatever you do, always give 100 %!

My bad. I was quoting the numbers for likelihood of being in an accident, not dying.

That being said.....

Well I've been sick as a dog the last couple of days. Didn't even feel like getting out of the house to get tested, or be told there's no testing capacity once I got there. Talked to a buddy in the construction industry that told me that half his workforce is off sick, and it's the same across the entire industry. Sounds like a wave of omicron ... hopefully it can burn through the population by the end of February.

Ditto.

Since Sunday.

For a few days I barely got out of bed.

I thought I was all better today, got up early, put the coffee on

... fell asleep on the couch waiting.

FIVE HOURS LATER.

I've been sleeping 16 hours per day.

Wifey is taking good care of me though...

I've been feeling pretty good lately. You guys just need to enjoy clean living like Donnie and me (and listen to punk music). ;)

The kids hockey teams are being decimated right now! Games canceled this weekend for the U15 team, missing our goalie for the U13 team.

I feel fine, so does the fam.

Crazy how many people are shelved right now though!
