I'm not really going into a debate of who is better; they are both great young d-men with tons of potential.
But it's kind of unfair to throw out the number of points without acknowledging that one of the players has missed games due to injury..... :|

Huey still has a slightly higher PPG, but it's not as big a difference as you made it seem.
Again Per.... he’s never seen Dahlin play.
I’ve seen him plenty. Hughes is just way too dynamic, flawless, brilliant, smart, skilled, skating. He’s a future Norris Triohy winner
Look, I’m very happy with Hughes. Great pick, who most likely will have a great career. And yeah, as I stated before, it’s not inconceivable that we are talking Norris level at his peak.

But have you ever seen an 18-yo d-man play like this in the NHL? :eh:

Off the top of my head no, not an 18 year old. But I have seen a 19 year old do it. His name is Quinn Hughes.

The difference in age should be erased by the fact that Dahlin played a year and a half of pro hockey in Sweden prior to his NHL debut. While the SHL is a far cry from the NHL, it's much closer to the NHL than the NCAA is.

Quinn also dances and controls the puck like that despite giving up nearly 20 pounds to Dahlin. I also haven't heard of Dahlin getting the kind of attention from opponents that Hughes gets. However I don't follow the Sabers closely so I'm not saying he doesn't.

Yeah, Hughes is great too.

As I’ve stated before, I’m convinced both of them will have Norris trophies in their cupboards before they retire.

Two of the best d-men we’ve seen enter the league in a very long time. So calm and composed at such a young age. They both have the poise of veterans even though they’re still wet behind their ears.

2018 draft, Quinn Hughes coming close to passing 1st overall pick Rasmus Dahlin in total NHL points soon, in a season less.

Hughes: 162gp, 125pts.
Dahlin: 231gp, 129pts.

2017 draft, Petey already has the top point total.

Was Dahlin never as good as his draft position or has the Sabres once again ruined the potential of a prospect?

Do you think he will ever perform as was expected if he ended up in another organization?

Because no one seems to be able to turn this franchise around.

BUF probably brought Dahlin onto the team a year too early, and the team was a dumpster fire for awhile, all of that hindered his confidence and development.

He'd probably be doing better with another team I bet.

BUF fucked up Dahlin. But he’s young enough to reset somewhere else. He’s already having a better season this year.

But he isn’t the best player from that draft.

Most normal people are taking Hughes over Dahlin in a redraft

Top 7 picks of 2018

Svechnikov - 12 goals 19 assists
Hughes - 2 goals 21 assist
Tkachuk - 9 goals 7 assists
Dahlin - 1 goal 15 assists
Kotkaniemi - 3 goals 2 assists
Hayton - 1 goal 3 assists
Zadina - AHL

I’m picking him 2nd after Svechnikov

1. Svechnikov
2. Hughes
3. Dahlin
4. Tkachuk
5. Madden
6. Farabee

The rest? Whatevs

PTS/G for NHL career thus far:

7th OA - Q. Hughes = 0.77
2nd OA - Svechnikov = 0.71
4th OA - Tkachuk = 0.66
1st OA - Dahlin = 0.55
