So, with the team riddled with COVID, think JB can find a trade partner for anyone off the roster this TDD?

Horribly short term thinking if any one believes covid affected players can't be traded.

I think flat cap for the coming couple of years is the biggest reason this deadline will be a flop.

As we say at the start of the season, mid level veteran talent is cheap these days.

Not sure I was thinking short term.. if they have it, they quarantine for another week minimum, then if they go across the border, it’s another 10 days in some states.. all the sudden your picking a rental for less than 10 games and playoffs. Looks a lot like Toffoli did for us last year.

So either the price for our rentals is less (next to worthless) or....

Still short term thinking. Go beyond the rental. Would you do a Miller type deal now if he was currently on the covid list?

Oh for sure. I all in for a hockey trade. But I was thinking of the value of our upcoming UFA’s and JB’s ability to move any of them.
I guess I could have worded it better. ;)

Dreger thinks Taylor Hall could be dealt pretty soon.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

I've noted many times, UFA's have very low value in a flat cap. It was a buyers market heading into the season and will continue to be so. The going rate is on par with an ELC, maybe a slight premium for a known quantity of a veteran presence, but not too different.

2 different cultures. Back when Vic's dad was growing up, Canada had a lot more British influence. Now, of course, it's the American vocabulary taking over.

But did anyone call 'chips' crisps over here?
Burger and chips sounds less weird that fish and fries...

No to crisps

Fish and Fries is wrong. Burger and chips is just as wrong. In Poco in the 70’s when I was a little kid, they had a place called Giant Burger where the waitresses brought the meals out on trays wearing roller skates. Jesus what a fucked up time that was. Bell bottom jeans, shirt collars with huge bat wings. French cut jeans.

So disappointed when in the US, burgers and chips means a bag of chips with your burger.

Then there's the "Fish Fry" - which is usually mass amounts of catfish around here.

I was aware that the Americans called their chips 'french fries' which I thought was weird but it wasn't until the advent of McDonalds and cable tv did I begin to hear local people use such exotic terminology.

I think even our accent is changing Corn. More and more American influence all the time.
