Demko was the playoff Demko for those two games. If the Sens score 1-2 more in the first period it is an entirely different game. If they take that message to heart and come out strong again in the first then Holtby needs to be up to task. Conversely the Canucks should be thinking about getting their collective shit together from the opening puck drop.

If Holtby is up to task and if the Canucks start strong then I think they can take this game by another lopsided score. Nothing about Ottawa goaltending nor defence has been impressive.

Lets see if Doc can make it 3 in a row.
The only HW the Canucks need

I will say 4 - 1 for Canucks tonight with another big game from Lotto line.

I assume Holtby is starting tonight and we will see some more rotation on D.

The calibre of play in the last two games has actually been horrible for both teams, at least on the defensive side. Sloppy play and turnovers galore. If this keeps up we'll be back to losing games with regularity against WPG, MTL, and CGY.

That said, the boys really SHOULD win this one on the basis of offence. Another lopsided score: 5-2 Nucks.

This sloppy play might work against Edmonton or Ottawa but the Canucks will be exposed if they don’t clean up the turnovers between the blue lines, by Toronto, Calgary, Winnipeg, Montreal.

Team looks a bit better but still nowhere near good enough to hang with the big boys unless they tighten up big time.

Doc cleaning rifle with a naked Charlton while calling other loony.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Its pretty bad eh. I cant recall a D group commit so many unforced turnovers like this. It has to be the #1 issue right now for the team

All the scoring we've been doing and ole Jake hasn't figured in much. Fine to say "but he's playing in the bottom six", but there are Mottes and Sutters flashing red lights so WTF? A tight leash or doesn't care much. Still a bit puzzled as to what Green would like to see from him, other than a good attitude. Fine to say consistency, but that is vague.
He is bright enough to realize what this year means to him I hope. After all this effort gone into a player, would stink to just lose him in the expansion draft.

Judging by morning skate, Holtby is starting and don't be surprised if Gaudette is in for Virtanen.

Yep. Gaudette still has upside. Virtanen not so much. Losing him to Seattle would also be satisfactory.

Quality might be a stretch there unless the + is significant, maybe another 5-6 D-man which isn't moving any needles.

Gaudette and Virtanen are what three months apart? But one has upside and the other doesn’t. Makes sense :mex:
