I know this is usually a thread for trade rumours for the Canucks, but here’s my just made up latest trade rumour to put the Jets in cup contention.

This has got to be an E3. :)

Kane, Toews, and Keith (40% retained) for Laine, 2021 First, Stastny and Perrault.

Laine wants out of Winnipeg.
Stastny and Perrault are UFAs that come off the books at the end of this season and are used in this trade to even out salary.
Chicago just announced they are starting a rebuild which pissed off at least Toews. Chicago will suck this year. Their goalies are Subban and Delia, and Seabrook plans to play this season. Why would Toews, Kane and Keith want to stick around for that at their ages.
Laine and a first gives Chicago’s rebuild a jump start.
Veteran core of Chicago joins veteran core of Winnipeg and gives them a realistic shot at a cup.
Top six would be awesome and Keith would help plug biggest hole on defence:
Wheeler, Scheifele, Connor
Kane, Toews, Ehlers
Yikes!
Toews is from Winnipeg. He’d just have to convince his two teammates to move for a shot at another cup.

Good trade, huh?

Don’t Kane and Toews make around $10 million each? This is a Winnipeg we are talking about. I could see one of them like Toews the prairie boy going there but if for Laine the Hawks would have to add a sweetener which isn’t what you call a rebuild type of trade. I’d ask for Perfetti or Heinola and retain some salary

Send Kane home to Buffalo for Dylan Cozens and salary retention

I can definitely see Toews going home but not the other 2.

Yah, I was saying retain 40% on all their salaries. They make like 26m together.

Toews wouldn’t move the needle at their cup chances. I think of the three he is slowing the most. The big need is D, so Keith. Then Kane to replace Laine. I doubt Toews would move unless he thought they could win a cup. If they didn’t have to move Laine, I could see him okaying a trade.

To be honest I think Kane to Buffalo makes a ton of sense. He could be what Miller was to us. Huge pressure to win in Buffalo now, the fans are done with losing. They have a ton of good prospects to move out. I’d have Chicago take Okposo if they want Quinn or Cozens

Kane with Eichel would be crazy. Cozens another prospect and a cap dump makes some sense.

Winterpig still has a very, very good top line so adding a motivated Toews to that group up front would push them along.

Laine for a top 4 puck moving Dman is what theyre trying to do right now apparently

Not sure if this was posted but media has really become the toilet paper of the world. The crap (pun intended) they make up is a laugh.

So for your Friday funnies here is the latest from the armpit capital of the world.

Edit - link was here but it seems I lack the skills to link properly but the story was about Chara going to Toronto.

I hate Toronto and every freaking writer from that area.

Isn’t Okposo buffalos version of Louise? A 6million dollar marginal 4th line player.

Okposo actually gave the Sabres a couple decent years unlike Louise. He has had injury problems that have led to his demise. Eriksson is just a lazy prick that steals from the team. But at this stage both are on poor contracts. Summer of 2016 wasn’t good for UFA. It was especially tough on Vancouver. They signed Eriksson, traded for Gudbranson and drafted Juolevi.

Mostly I think. The Beagle and Roussel signings kinda stink. Ferland was bad luck, but for the most part Elmer has done a lot of good things since the calendar moved into 2017. But you have to admit that summer of 2016 was about as ugly as Rosie O’Donnell in a thong sitting on Gomer’s face.
