A good selling point for the team & Loui Eriksson + Sven Baertschi is a 'both parties agree to cancel contract' is they can play in the NHL next season and play on a preferred team. For Loui, he likely can sign a cheap deal with a team close to where his family wants to settle in.

He only got to play 49 games this season & was benched for almost the entire Vegas series, he likely will be told by the team "thanks for your service, you've been a pro, but your services are no longer required here" so from their perspective, they put out some feelers out there, but teams want too much in return to take on the cap dump. So the team could simply save a million in cap and send him to Utica to play in greyhound trips, cheap hotels in the farm team. Doubt he'd want that. Nix the contract.

Sven has said he's done in the AHL, doesn't want to play in Europe, so his best option is to cancel his contract and sign a cheap 1 year deal with another team in the NHL.

When did Baertschi say he was done playing in the AHL? Will there even be an AHL? Those guys have no reason to do Vancouver a solid considering they are still due good money on their contracts. Just because you want them to tear up their deals doesn’t mean they will. I think both would have trouble getting a one way deal at 700 K.

I think Gagne was choked and said a couple things publicly but Louis ans Sven have blatantly questioned their roles for all to hear.
Baertschi finished himself. Somehow Eriksson is clinging on. He looks like a Klingon come to think about it. Little darker and you
have old general Martok.
