But more importantly, if the leaves fall flat in the playoffs, AGAIN, Dubas and his team of merry men (Gilman) most certainly will be given their pink slips. It’s now or never for the leaves cause Tavares is getting old and slow and Matthews will be in Arizona when he is 26 years old

I’d guess he’s going to need 92-95 points at minimum to get an extension

I agree. I think the team has to earn him a new contract this season. If they are still in the playoff race in the last month of the season and just miss the playoffs, he’ll likely get a new contract; but I could also see him getting replaced during the season if the team has a double digit losing streak, or fall completely out of the playoff race. It’s a big year for Benning.

Next summer Greiss $3.33M and Martin $2.5M come off the books

... and next summer they move out Boychuk $6M and maybe Clutterbuck $3.5M

Apparently his knees are shot, he only played 26 games last year, he's 34 in December.
