We had heart! Stood up to and even took it to the big bad Blues when the game was looking bad. Something real special happened for this team
tonight. Never seen this much team spirit from all these guys as a group. Wow.

1st star..............Jacob Markstrom
2nd star.............Tyler Motte
3rd star...............Quinn Hughes

JT Miller unsung hero/leader started the charge.

Also, how crazy that our bad ref bounce they didn't score on a great Marky save, and their bad bounce off ref led to winning goal.

Although I'm also worried/scared they're gonna be nervous and sit back next game ugh. Gotta play like they're down 3-2,not up.

What a schizo GDT!

I paused it in P1 for supper and was playing catchup until mid-P3 while reading the GDT. Sounded like it was gonna be a blowout!

So many good things in this game. Petey going up the middle more, Boeser with gargantuan effort, Hughes back to weaving his magic. Must be a massive confidence builder for the boys!

That's playoffs man, bet every fan says that about their team in the playoffs. The other team's gonna have a say, no way we're rolling over them or anybody. Roller coaster ride ain't over, strap in!

Blues have a fairly recent reference point, down 3-2 games in the Finals series and won the last two. This will be in their mind and a rallying point. Sadly we have an ominous reference point of our own the last time we were in the Finals: up 2-0, opponent climbs back to 2-2, we gut out game 5 (familiar??), then....doh!! (Luckily that's a just a bad reference for us fans and not this group, save Tanev and Edler who were there.)

The Blues are poised and not phased, we're gonna need Marky to be near perfect and get some serious bounces like the ones we got tonight (Pietrangelo broken stick on Motte's 1st goal, the refs holding the whistle a fraction of a second on Miller's goal, and the bounce off the linesman on Motte's 2nd goal). Bounces and getting the PP back on track will be the key.

Marky and some luck got it done tonight, but that said, I thought this was one of the guttiest efforts by a Canucks team that I can remember. I LOVED the way they approached the 3rd period, they clearly went for the dagger and not tried to sit back and protect a one goal lead. Everybody and their dog knew the Blues would be throwing the kitchen sink at the Nucks in the 3rd, but all period it looked as if we were the team down looking for the tying goal. It was evident we couldn't risk OT with Edler not coming back and down to 5 D rest of the way. Just a spectacular, gutty effort in the 3rd.

"We battled so hard today and it's a pleasure being out there with the group we have. But we haven't done anything yet. We have to recharge our batteries and be ready to play next game." - Markstrom
"It's always nice to contribute offensively, especially this time of year. Goals are tough to come by, so it helped take some pressure off our top guys." - Motte
"We had it in the back of our mind over the last day. We wanted to switch it up a bit tonight. I'm happy for him and our group." - Green on Virtanen playing on the first line
-------------------------------------
"Zack MacEwen was fit to play. Just didn't show our lines today." - Green on warm-up lines
------------------------------------
"I was happy for him. He does a lot of little things for our team. At this time of year you need guys to step up, he did it tonight and played a hell of a game." - Green on Motte
-----------------------------------
"When we're skating we're a much better team. When you're down, you need guys, someone, to step up to take charge. Marky's done that before and no surprise Millsy was there." - Green
----------------------------------
"I don't know for sure, I'm not going to give you my real idea or thoughts. I don't know if that line ever has a bad game, they didn't dominate as much tonight I guess. It's probably more about how we played as a team." - Green on O'Reilly's line
---------------------------------
"He had a strong game. I'll go with the guys that are playing well and he deserved to play tonight. When he's skating he's a handful... His game has slowly been getting to where he needs it to be." - Green on Virtanen
