GDT: Canucks vs Blues>Game 5>7:30pm>SNETP

Post by Mickey107 »

The Canucks are undefeated in the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs as the road team in their white jerseys. Why change, Let's Rock!!!

We can do this! Stay focused and take the game to them.

Stay tuned for any line-up changes for either team...

The great part is that the Canucks have not looked that bad in the 2 losses, what I mean is that the mistakes they are making can be fixed. If the team can play to their strength and weather the first 5 minutes then they will win.

I predict a 3 - 1 win.

I sure hope Travis makes some adjustments. I, for one, would like to see The Gaud in for either Eriksson or Virtanen.

I know we can’t compete with the Blues when it comes to the physical game, but I still want to see some big hits.

Main thing though is to dare play the creative style that is Petey’s and Huggy Bear’s trade mark.
Do the unexpected. Make those high risk, high reward plays.

And I want to see Bo lead by example the way he did in game two.

I’m impressed by this team; the way they beat Minnesota, the way they got a 2-0 lead in the series against the ruling champs.
A lot of people did not even think they’d make the playoffs.

And I don’t think they are done. Tonight we take back the initiative and win. Nucks, 3-2 in ot.

The only way to win is if the teams lobs a shit load of shots on net, and without Myers on D (can't match the Blues intensity)
the key then is to try to play the 1990's detroit possession game, keep the puck out of their hands - notably the ROR's and Perron's.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

I think we will absolutely come out with more resolve then in game four. We were beat in games three but were beaten up in four.
It started early with the nasty run on Horvat. One would think they'll be prepared and make sure not to hand over the momentum
to the Blues right off the get-go.
Pepper Allen early, you never know. DO NOT take dumb penalties.

Alien trumps Allen.

And being Swedish, he has an Allen key and knows how to use it!

Canucks chased out Jordan Binnington, now they can do so to Jake Allen.

I hope they play Gaudette. It emphasizes offence. Sutter, Virtanen, Roussel might get lucky and score, but it will almost always be an individual effort. There is no chemistry when they play on the the same line. They all just focus on defence and try not to get caught. Sutter can do that better than Loui on Bo’s wing. Loui is fading badly. Gaudette tries to score and use his wingers more than Sutter. He isn’t always falling back defensively, so there is risk, but I think with the lack of scoring, a more attacking attitude would help the whole team. The Canucks aren’t going to out defend St. Louis, their only hope is to out score them.
