Not a fix at all, (biggest market, etc)..
Coilers, Pitts, or TO probably actually won it, but the league realized there would be a revolt so they gifted to their best interests.

Re: Who wins the lottery?
Can live with it, at least it's not the leaves or Oilers and that's the most important thing period.
What a horrible 24 hours for Leafland. After the dramatic comeback that filled everybody with hope they laid an egg in an elimination game where their $33 million superstar line crapped the bed, then they moved on to the optimistic anticipation of at least getting the 1st overall pick as consolation, and then the end being more appropriate with them losing the lottery and having to fork over their 1st pick for moving out Marleau.
What a great past week. Hockey's back, Canucks advance led by their young stars, and the leaves and Oilers get eliminated and lose the draft lottery. The only thing that could have made it better would have been the Flames joining the leaves and Oilers.

Notice how the Rangers ball was dropped in prematurely, then slid back up. Did Ernst and Young receive an extra million for auditing the draft in such an unusual manner?
Conspiracy!

Wow, the Leaves dropped to 13th OA. That gives them a shot to draft the next Sven BaertschiCurmudgeon wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 3:21 pm Can live with it, at least it's not the Leaves or Oilers and that's the most important thing period.

They would have but have to fork it over to the Canes for them taking Marleau! Disastrous 24 hours for the leaves.ESQ wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 3:30 pm

Ohhh right, it was only protected if it was top-10. Dang, its going to be a long off-season in Toronto.Curmudgeon wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 3:32 pmThey would have but have to fork it over to the Canes for them taking Marleau! Disastrous 24 hours for the Leaves.ESQ wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 3:30 pm

So glad Toronto and Edmonton failed to get the 1 OA. I can live with the Rangers. I think I only would have been pleased had it been Florida.
The only HW the Canucks need

1. New York Rangers
2. Los Angeles Kings
3. Ottawa Senators (via San Jose Sharks)
4. Detroit Red Wings
5. Ottawa Senators
6. Anaheim Ducks
7. New Jersey Devils
8. Buffalo Sabres
9. Minnesota Wild
10. Winnipeg Jets
11. Nashville Predators
12. Florida Panthers
13. Carolina Hurricanes (via Toronto Maple leaves)
14. Edmonton Oilers
15. Minnesota Wild (via Pittsburgh Penguins)
I'm sure Dumbass figured the pick he gave up to dump Marleau would be at least 10 spots lower.

Re: Who wins the lottery?
Will Ottawa offer 3 and 5 for 1? Would it even be enough?
